Sorry this isn't dog related but desperately need some ideas - it's my mum and dads ruby wedding anniversary in March and have no idea what to get them. Want to get them something orginal and something that they can look back on in years to come. Any ideas??
What about a photo album. My mum used to do Creative Memories which is an album company. They're an american company and have agents in the UK. I've done a couple of albums for people and have used old photos of weddings and family etc. The paper in the albums doesn't damage the photos (which means they are slightly more expensive) but I daresay that if you find a nice album somewhere and you manage to pilfer photos without being caught, you could make something up. If you type in Creative Memories, you can click on the links and it will give you the idea.
My sister as a gift to my mother got all the old cinne spools and photos of family times and events over the years and got them put on to video. My mother was thrilled with the gift and could sit and watch memories on the screen in the comfort of her living room. Do not know how or where she had it made up but I am quite sure the may be something on the internet or Phone book. Hope this gives you another thought for a gift. Nora

Debbie, It was my parents golden wedding last June. The last celebration we had before Mum died. I bought them a rose-bowl and a rose bush called 'Golden Wedding'. My Dad moved the rose when he moved house and it has been so warm down here it flowered in December and still has a few on now! He picks them and remembers Mum. I am sure that whatever you get they will love it because it came from you - but if you have a few quid over I think it cost only about £10, I am sure that a rose called Ruby or Ruby Wedding is available somewhere online. It will last forever and they can tend it together and bring the flowers indoors. Em x
Thanks for all the ideas - we have decided to get a professional photograph done of their Lurcher, (who a lot of you will know from the edinburgh walks) Drummer. They had one done of their first dog and Mum says that she regrets not getting ones done of the other dogs they've had. There is a photographers near us and it was them who did the photos of their first dog and of my sister and me when we were small so know that they are excellent.
Will let you know how we get on and what they think,
Just to let you know Drummer had his photo session for my mum and dads ruby wedding anniversary pic - have to say he absolutely loved all the attention and have to say he was a bit of a poser! Lots of great photos were taken and Drummer was an angel. It's obviously very tiring being a supermodel as whilst we were looking through the pics and trying to choose which one to go for Drum lay down on the floor and was out for the count without a care in the world! Can't wait to see the finished thing!
That is a great idea. I'll definitely steal it for my mum's birthday. Her toy poodle is on his last legs and she's finding it really difficult to think about him going. This would be something she could treasure forever.
Georgous Picture....................I would love a picture of my lot, but getting 3/4 greyhounds to sit all at once...mmm....... Florence sitting like an angel, Abbey panicing/hiding, Dexter working his way to the front to take centre stage, then Kai looking around asking 'what we doin?'
