Just thought I'd give you an update on Eddie's first 27 hours!!!

All was going great until Chas took them out for a walk about 9.30 last night.  Eddie has a "habit" of refusing to move if he doesn't know you (as we found out last weekend!).  It took Chas half an hour to do 100 yards!  I don't know who was more frustrated - Chas or Wilma!!!!  As Eddie refused to toilet (and Wilma just won't when out for a walk with a friend!) they still had to be kicked out into the garden for a last minute pee - which they both did happily!

Bed at 10.30pm.  By 11.10 I was listening to him whining from the kitchen! I had that dilemma, "do I get up and fuss him, or just ignore him?"!!  In the end, I gave up and went through to the kitchen.  There were a bunch of kids talking outside the kitchen window and I think it had freaked Eddie out a little. Plus the dishwasher was on and I'm not sure he liked that either!!  Back to bed ....

Was up again at 11.30, but this time he wanted out into the garden!  Did what he needed to do, then back to bed!  Up again at 2.30 am because of the whining again!!!!  A quick rub of the head and he settled down again until I heard him whine at 6.15 am.  I'm afraid I ignored him this time, and left them until 7.30!!! BUT, the kitchen was lovely and clean, he wolfed his breakfast down (time taken to eat a bowl of food? 0.6 seconds!!) and went out to the garden to do "his thing"!!!!

He's been great all day - very keen to sit on my chairs, but a gentle "off" is working a treat!!  he's worked out that his bed isn't quite as bad as he thought it was (it's amazing how comfy 4 folded single duvets can be!!).  We went out for an hour this afternoon - to bring him gently to being left through the day, and everything seemed fine on our return!!!

I'm at work tomorrow (part time on a Monday), so he'll be left for a bit longer ..... not that I honestly think there will be any problems!!!

He's such a laid-back, biddable boy. He's desparate to be loved .... which he's getting plenty of!! !!!

Will give you an update later in the week!!

Awww, what a star!

We are missing him; it's very quiet here without him looking for cuddles/food/more cuddles.
I'm so happy he is settling in with you and that these updates are so frequent. Makes it all so worthwhile.

Amazing what a day does.  He's obviously feeling a lot happier with his surroundings.  You'll be biting your nails with anticipation of what lies in wait for you when you return - I bet he'll be fine!  I look forward to hearing how it goes x

The kitchen was clean, with not one thing out of place!!!!!!   How happy was I?!!!

Plus, I decided to try him for another walk .... he did a full 20 minutes without stopping!!  I had a little tear in my eye I can tell you!  This might not sound much to everyone, but less than 48 hours ago he refused to walk because he didn't know/trust us!

He's not been near the rabbit since Saturday afternoon!!

Just now he's spark out in his bed, looking very much like he's been here forever!!

Because they are both sooo submissive it's funny watching them together - "you go first", "no you", "no I insist", "no, really after you"!!!  Oh for goodness sake, just get on with it!!!!  I think she's quite pleased of the company, although Eddie's not too sure about when she whirls round like Taz!!

It's lovely to hear how well Eddie is doing.  I'm glad Wilma's happy with the newcomer too.

Keep us posted of progress.  It certainly sounds as if Eddie has realised that he's home.
