Prince came to stay with us on Tuesday 30th January until he finds his forever home. He has a lovely placid nature and likes nothing better than to find a cosy corner and sleep for hours (but what greyhound doesn’t!). The whole house thing had him completely bewildered – the poor soul got such a fright when he saw his reflection in a mirror. He has mastered the stairs and in fact we had a bit of a breakthrough this morning. Since he arrived he hasn’t wagged his tail but this morning he had one of those crazy greyhound moments where he was running up and down the stairs, jumping on the bed wagging his tail and looking like the happiest greyhound alive. Millie would usually join in but even she looked taken aback – he’s gone from a being a quiet wee chap to a party animal. And long may it continue – we look forward to seeing his personality develop.. Here is some pictures.. they are a bit dark but we'll post some better ones soon
He's a handsome lad. I love the black ones and remain mystified as to how I came home with a bridle when I'd fully intended to look for a black dog (not that I'd change anything).
As today the 17th of February was such a wonderful day in Balloch we thought we would take a few photos of Prince to show the world and hope to allow him to be endeared to his future forever home.
If i didn't know better i would have said the second photo was a picture of my Neo, they are so alike Prince is gorgeous, and sounds like he is loving being with you.
The last one is a dead ringer for Predator! Seriously, lovely fotos, the dogs look great together. I'm surprised by how many on this forum have 4 or even 5 dogs, since my foster came to stay, I've had lots of folk making comments about 'what a handful they must be', very disapprovingly. Of course the dogs are no bother, yet people seem bothered by me having four - does anyone else get this reaction? Cos I'm seriously considering adopting my foster.

Hiya, yeh i have 4 dogs to and folk say to me, "god thats a right handful"! Yet time and time again i see so many people struggle with their one dog and they have the cheek to say mine must be hard work!
Im surprised at how many dog walkers I meet with thier small dogs who struggle but I have two of mine walking off the lead (Dylan and Kiera) with Mille and Prince behaving on the lead. How can I cope? well I walk them and they sleep all day ? Thats the part people dont get they seem to think greys are Duracell all day running machines. Thats where a good sofa comes in he he
Im sure whoever takes Prince on as a pet will want to smother the big fella too, since he loves human association after his affectionless life as a racer. Our other three dogs are used to a wee bit of comfort (within reason). How could we possibly make different rules for Prince?
Prince must be one of the most easy going laid back greyhounds. He has such a lovely temperament. He has been introduced to dogs of all shapes and sizes and doesn't seem too fussed, although I do think he prefers the company of other greyhounds. He likes nothing better to sleep with his head on Kiera or Millie's back. I love the way he bounds in to see me in the morning with his tail wagging. I call him my handsome boy but every time I say it Dylan comes running up to me and just about headbutts poor Prince out the way. A tad jealous I think! It's a pleasure having him stay with us (and we are in no rush for him to go!).
We can't bear the thought of the big man moving on so we have decided to keep him. He has settled in so well and gets on brilliantly with our other 3 that it just feels that it is meant to be.
It doesn't mean that GAL is losing a foster home though as we will be able to foster on an emergency/short term basis.
