Hi all, well I have just had the worst weekend of my life. My gentle wee Janie was out for a walk on friday morning when she took a very nasty fall. Couldn't really stand and when she did you could see there was something far wrong all the muscle in her right hind had dropped away, as if that wasn't bad enough when I thought we were dealing with serious muscle damage I could cope. Then came the worst news it was a spinal injury that she had sustained and it was touch and go to see if she would make it. well to cut a long stor short she was kept in overnight she was doped up to the eyeballs to keep her still and pain free. On the saturday morning there was a slight improvement. As she was not coping with being kept in I was allowed to take her home, very strict homecare instructions to be followed so as not to cause further damage as was told if a disc slipped up into her spinal cord then that would be that. Now it is Monday and what a wee fighter she really is she can stand, go out for toilet. So all the signs are looking very good. My head is in such a muddle as have been through just about every emotion imaginable so hope this makes sense, apologies if it is a bit muddled.
So, so sorry Nicki, and I'm sure everyone will be sending good vibes to Janie for a full recovery. Can only imagine what you are going through, so hope it will be better soon for you both.
So sorry to hear about poor Janie. I hope she continues to make a good recovery and we have everything crossed for her. Give her a bug cuddle from all of us..that's 6 human cuddles,3 pooch cuddles and a cat cuddle..so 10 in all!!

Oooh, Nicki, I hope that wee Janie continues to make improvements. I was thinking about you over the weekend as I knew she was unwell (had popped into the vet on Friday). We're all rooting for her. She's getting the best possible care and she's a wee toughie for all her gentleness. What a dreadful shock it must have been for you. Here's to her getting better very soon.
Oh no, poor Janie. We've had a soft spot for Wee Janie ever since she came to help Nicki with our home visit before we got Daz! Hope she contines to improve and gets better soon.

Hi all, Just a wee update on how Janie is doing. Firstly thank you all so much for your kind words and messages of support, they really mean alot. She is making steady progress with improvements every day. She is now started to straighten up a bit and is finding it easier to move and lay down without the constant pain she was in. We are still not sure if she will make a full recovery but the early signs are promising so I am keeping my fingers firmly crossed. Will keep you updated with her progress. Thank you again for all your support.

Hi everyone, Janie is making good progress. She is managing her walks which is good and her squatting for pees etc is getting much stronger. She is still not allowed to atempt stairs and things should all just be at a nice gentle pace, (although Janie woulds disagree with that)! However she is making remarkable progress considering what a serious injury she has. Vets reckon it is because she is such a healthy fit dog that her recovery is going so well. Will keep you updated with her progress.
Amanda Janie loved getting her cuddles from you,Phil and Harry so much so I heard she was wanting to go away with you all! I am putting that down to her wanting to see her boyfriend
