I have just picked up Fly our Border Collie from the Cat and Dog home in Edinburgh today. Fly who is three and a half years old decided to go for a little adventure yesterday something he has never done before and wandered to the farm half a mile up the road only to be picked up by the local police who took him straight to the dog home. He was not wearing a collar as he is a working dog on the farm so could not be indentified. The local police called our farmer asking if he had a collie missing where he told them it would maybe our dog and we called them to find out to be told he could not be claimed till to-day. He is now safely home wearing collar with ID, A very upsetting experience for both him and us. Please always have your dog wearing it,s ID or better still microchipped I would never like to go through that ever again. A lesson learned, even with working dogs. Nora

Poor Fly. I bet you, Derek and Andrew were besides yourselves with worry. Glad you got him back safe and sound ( david would never have forgiven you, you know )
I can imagine how upset you all must have been, Nora. But what a relief that Fly is safe and sound now! What a worry dogs are at times - they're as bad as children for that!
