Steve managed to break our computer   (don't ask )  Anyway he sent it off to be repaired and it came back tonight...............with EVERYTHING wiped!!!! ALL my photos from the last two years.   Not only have I lost all the photos of the kids at birthdays and Christmas but I've lost every single dog picture  I am so angry....Steve has ran for cover.

Thank god for the forum I have managed to re-save all the photos of Sunny and Zoe that I posted so i at least have a few of the dogs. If anyone else has photos of Sunny and Zoe can you email them to me I'd be really greatful.

What a nightmare.  You'll just need to get the camera out and get snapping.  They'll at least go some ways to replacing your lost pics.

This is exactly why I keep telling myself to download all the photos I have stored on to CD, have I done it yet ? NO. Thank you for the reminder, I have so many fantastic shots of family and dogs(mostly dogs) I would be devastated if I lost them like yourself,so tomorrow I am going out to by CDs and download the whole lot. Sorry you have lost all yours, not sure if I have any of your dogs but I will have a look. Nora

Exactly what I kept saying Nora, and i kept saying I must get round to printing them all out but never did. Lesson learnt.

Some friends and family have returned some so thats good.

Two people have said to me today that there is a way to recover them from the hard drive, but thats beyond my computer skills, I'll give the company who fixed it a ring tonight and see if they can help. If I had phoned last night I would just have shouted at them.

Everyone make a back up of all your photos........or don't let your other half near your computer in the first place!!!!

When my last computer went haywire I was offered the option of getting info recovered including the photos.  I'm sure the people who fixed it could do that for you. Hope it works out.

Glad you've managed to recover some of your missing pics.  Will be keeping fingers crossed that you can recover them from your pc.

Hi Landess - what a shame! I know how upset I'd be if I lost all the files I want to keep. I've got three photos of Sunny that I saved onto my Fave GAL Dogs folder. I'll pm you for your e-mail address so I can send them on to you. I haven't found any of Zoe so far, but I'll keep looking - she may be in a photo with other dogs!

Thank you Christine and Nicki. The guy who fixed the computer was ment to phone me back but hasn't but I'm not letting him off that easy.  He did ask Steve if there was anything he wanted saved and Steve said NO!!!!!! As you can imagin Steve has been in the dog house all week.

Family and friends have managed to email back alot to me but there are still loads missing.  

I'm busy taking lots more to replace them all. (oh and remembering to back up the ones I have got)
