A young female greyhound or lurcher was thrown from a car witnessed by a young woman who managed to catch the dog. She took the dog to the local police station to be told to take the dog to local vets as it had an injured leg. The dog escaped the girl before she could get it into the vets and has been missing for seven days. There have been many sightings around the West Calder/Howdean area but the dog has evaded capture. She is mostly black with white socks, chest and body markings very thin and with a injured leg. If you spot this dog please report it , she is scared of men.

It breaks your heart that you keep hearing of such disgusting behaviour when all they had to do was hand in the dog somewhere I hope the poor dog is found soon.
I have been keeping a look out for this dog since last sunday. I work in the vet surgery in the livingston pets at home store and was told by a customer last sunday that a black and white greyhound was running around the dual carrigeway in livingston near the deer park area. The customer said that he had stopped at the side of the road but she ran a mile, another driver also stopped a female to try a catch the dog but no luck. I was also told by one of the pet shop staff on friday night that a woman had found a black and white greyhound and wanted to know what to do with it, they sent her to the police station across the road. I told the staff that if anyone comes back in with a greyhound to call me asap and I can let you guys know.
Susan (Millie the Whippet ) who lives in Livingston and who joined the forum a couple of weeks ago has been on holiday all week and witnessed the dogs escape from the girl who managed to catch it, she has spent the entire week searching for the dog.Well done Susan and GOOD LUCK. Nora

Hope this wee girl is found and caught very soon! I can't help thinking of her, afraid to approach people who can help because she thinks they might hurt her. Fingers crossed that she's safe.
yeah a vets in livingston have just called me to say that they have had the dog handed in at lunch time and will be getting checked over by the vet asap. seems like there may be a bit of a fight over who gets her tho!! lets just hope it a home that will take good care of her anyway.
Just picked up this thread, I had heard an appeal on the Radio for her this weekend. I am so glad she had been found and hope her new home treats her with love and kindness which she has obviously lacked at the beginning of her life.
