I posted in another post about my neighbours cats who really worry me as they are just not scared of my dogs at all weirdface

The Ginger Tom is now getting really brave and sits on the fence glaring at the dogs, no matter how much they bark he doesn't move. blankstare I have to go out and throw something at him or keep bringing the dogs in. cry

Theres a little black and white one who likes to come and look in our front window. Zoe has now taken up "Cat watch".

Day
And night!

And when she takes time off Sunny takes over the watch wink

That first picture is brill.......that would make a great caption photo!! I'm sure the members could think of some good captions for that.
The others taken at the window are real 'go on punk, make my day'wink

Brilliant pics.  We have the same problem with the local cats sitting just out of reach either on the fence (like in Sunny Girl's first pic) or on the roof of the shed.  Do they have a death wish or something? weirdface

Great pics - not easy to get!  smile

The cats have been avoiding my garden since Tigger scared the living daylights out of one recently.  wink

Fab photos, I love to see the dogs when they set themselves a task, (such as 'CAT WATCH') they just never give up. I wish more cat owners would admit that cats can start the fight just as often as the dogs do.

Cats can be very brave.  I used to have a cat that deliberately sat on a branch overhanging the neighbours garden just to torment the Jack Russell, who kept making leaps up.  I think the ginger knows what he is doing, but it's a shame if you have to keep bringing the dogs in.

laughing.gif fab photos

Zoe must be knackered with being on 'cat watch' day and night, we know how much she just likes to flake out. So it's great to see Sunny takes a shift now and again.

Blimey, Harry would be throwing himself up at that cat with all his strength if he were there! It's incredible how BIG he is when he stands on his back legs.

Lovely piccies of your beautiful girlies. heart.gif

Yep, I've got to agree with FAJ, old Woody would have had that cat off there before now!
Maybe Sunny girl can borrow Harry for a day  biggrin.gif

I reckon one good leap and that cat would discover that he's not sitting as pretty as he thought he was!  biggrin  That fence ain't that high!  I'd love to see the look on it's face if Sunny n Zoe stood on their hind legs!  wink

It is a pity though if the poor doggies are having to suffer (being taken in) all because some daft moggy has decided to torment them!  cry

Thats one thing I really do have problems with too.
Since we moved there are hundreds of cats.  One side of me has 2 cats which Chad can see through the hedge. The hedge has chain link fencing inside it (put in in pouring rain on the week we moved in) so he cannot get through but its always quite scarey. One has to wonder if he could find a way through so you can never quite relax if he's outside alone.
The other side also have two cats that I would describe as 'dog teasers!' There is a wall between us and the cats but it has cut out flowers in the brickwork and Chad has learn't to run from one cut-out to the next to keep an eye on the cats. I have to laugh because they often run at full pelt and you just hear the cat flap slam after them. At other times they appear to enjoy sitting half in and half out so that they can see him. He has a good woof and they just sit there staring!
There are seven other houses aside from the neighbours bordering my garden and a good proportion seem to have cats (although I havn't worked out exactly where they all live yet.) suffice to say we have had several near misses one resulting in a lost claw and an overturned bin. Chad tried to go over the hedge further down by climbing on top of the bin!I think he always ends up more injured than the cats as he seems to land in the roses or cut himself or get a scratched face! He forgets everything once he is engaged in the chase!
Best of all we have a beautiful cat that lives over the road. It s one of those really pretty ones with blue fur and big eyes. His favorite game is to come over and sit on the window sill. Ornaments go flying, vases tip Chad goes absolutely mad.He has never woofed so much! I have now taught everyone to shut the blinds if this happens!
I also have to tame ducks that come every day for their dinner I have to rescue them as well from the cats, Chad and today a crow!
It is very Tom and Jerry here and I just pray that it remains with no serious injuries to either party! Em and the mad cat chaser Chad xx

And here I was looking up houses for sale thinking a garden would be the answer to my prayers...  Now living on a second floor has suddenly got some advantages! hmm

I agree that the cats know exactly what they're doing - and that is winding the dogs up because they think they're safe! Our area has loads of cats too and there are two in particular that take great pleasure in teasing Vegas and Dixie by hiding behind plant pots on our patio, but making sure there's a flicking tail sticking out. I've often gone flying out the door attached to the dogs' leads when they've spotted one of them and I haven't. I suppose it all adds to my neighbours' amusement - they think I'm eccentric enough as it is! As for the cats themselves - they're playing a very dangerous game.

Fraid I haven't got any pictures but we have a similar problem with our next door neighbours chickens, sadly they aren't as intelligent as cats and don't run as fast either cry we had one casualty a few weeks back when one jumped over the fence then couldn't rememeber how to get back in time, before we had the time to get the dogs into the house the chicken was a goner cry. On a similar note the same neighbour in the spirit of the country recently adopted 11 lambs who'd been rejected by their various mothers, first thing the lambs did was find a lamb sized gap in the fence! 6 hounds and 11 small fluffy lambs is a bad combination blankstare luckily in this case we managed to get the dogs into the house before they spotted them at the bottom of the garden! Needless to say the first call the next morning was to our local fence who promptly patched the hole!...

Following on from your comments about the chickens Dave, my chickens have been known to wander away from their run, through the paddock and in to the playpark. A lady put a card through my door saying her dog had attacked a chicken in the playpark and she thought it had been killed, but couldn't find it.cry.gif I found it the next day, the only feathers it had left were on its head and it was full of puncture wounds. I brought it in to our sun room and left it in a darkened box so it could pass away quietly (it looked almost gone when I found it) It was up and about the next morning looking like something from a zombie movie. It made a full recovery (and a disgusting mess of my sunroom) I couldn't put it back with the chickens until it had grown some feathers, it was realy bad tempered and not at all appreciative of what I was trying to do for it. It lived for 3years after the dog attack but never laid another egg. Some chickens are a bit dumb and not very fast, but this one strutted about looking not just 'oven ready' but half eaten for months.ashamed.gif

It is a worry!  Ever since Tigger managed to get hold of next door's guinea pig, I've been very wary of there being anything in the garden that could become an interesting game.

The picture your chicken story conjures up is making me giggle!  It must have looked really funny with a few feathers sticking out of it's head!  biggrin
