Lindsay and Helen, So sorry to hear about poor Woody. He'll no doubt be a bit down in the dumps for a while. Let us know how he gets on. Em and Chad xx
Poor Woody.....its funny how some pups seem to get hurt and others dont even get a scratch. Molly was forever getting hurt as a pup, breaking her tail, cuts, bumps etc, it just couldnt be avoided, unless I wrapped her in cotton wool. Presley on the other hand, barged around like a bull in a china shop and never seemed to get anything. I'm sure like the vet said, with youth on Woodys side he will recover without any problems. Once he is back home with you, he will get better in no time. get well soon Woody xxx
Thank you all for your kind words. Especially Dawn, from one who has been there with puppies. I felt such a bad daddy, after giving the wee souls a home then this happens. We should have Woody home tomorrow and hopefully Kiera and Millie will continue thier maternal roles. Then no doubt once better Woody will be fighting and playing rough and tumble with Bunny, who is lost just now. Anyway thanks to all and we will let you know how the wee man does. L and H xx
Don't feel bad about this- accidents will happen, especially with children and pups. I have no doubt that Woody will be back to his normal self soon enough. Keep giving Bunny extra tlc to make up for him missing his brother, xxxxxxxxxx
Hope Woody recovers quickly, probably a daft thing to say but if there was ever a 'good' time for your dog to break their leg it's when they are young like Woody, he'll recover very quickly given his age..
I'm sure woody will recover quickly, as Dave has said "he's in the best place" being surrounded caring humans and dogs, is a great place to be when you're a pup.

Dont beat yourself up about this......its because you ARE such a GOOD DADDY, that you allow the pups to grow and develop, and sometimes things happen, but Woody has found a safe and happy home. IYou are good people helping the dogs and little comfort as it may seem at the moment, Woody will be bounding about in no time, probably, like Molly he will end up having a few more accidents, but at the end of the day.....he will get so much attention for it..... x
Poor wee man! Accidents happen and it's all part of growing up - learning from the knocks and hurts you get as a youngster - be you human, dog or whatever.
Woody has a fantastic home and couldn't be in a better place. He's getting the medical help and attention that he needs, as well as the love and care needed to give him the very best chance to put it all behind him.
We all feel guilty when something sore happens to our hairy weans but there's very rarely anything that could have been done to prevent an accident. I'm sure Woody will be back to his bouncy, playful self very soon. Give him (and his brother) a big hug from all of us here in Dunoon.
Hope Woody's not too sore, and recovers soon. No doubt his big brothers and sisters will give him lots of tlc as well as Mum & Dad. Big hugs to the wee boy from, Lita, John, Max & Penny
Hope wee Woody feels a lot better soon! Sometimes these things happen - and I agree with everyone else that Woody couldn't be in a better place to grow and develop! Big hugs to Woody when he gets home - and to Bunny who's missing his brother so much.
Poor little Woody. You must be feeling terrible. No doubt he'll bounce back a lot quicker than you will! However much we'd like to protect our doglets from harm, sometimes things just happen. It doesn't mean that your care was any less than spot on for wee Woody. I'd like to wrap our two up in cotton wool so nothing ever happens to them but that just aint practical.
Oh dear Woody! Much as we'd like to we can't wrap our hounds up in cotton wool and accidents happen. I hope Woody feels better soon and you get over the shock of it all. Marie
After all the fun we have had with the pups. Woody had an accident yesterday playing out the back. Dylan decided he wanted to play with Woody and get a chase. He ran into Woody and broke Woodys tibia. The howls were horrendous and we knew immediately it was serious. But we didnt think that it was a break, we thought at worst a bad knock and bruise. So off to the Vet and an X ray he will be getting a pin fitted in his leg to help the bone mend. Wee Bunny is lost without his brother but we are all giving him extra TLC.
We cannot beleive this has happened, we thought he would have a happy and safe life with us. Hopefully all will be well. We will keep you posted on his progress.
I thought Id re edit this post with the latest news. Thankfully a pin wont be needed. The more senior of the vets at our surgery has viewed the X ray and damage and feels that with youth on Woodys side the injury will heal with a cast. This is good news as it means the wee soul will be home with us again tomorrow.
Thank you to everyone who has taken the time to send thier kind wishes and thoughts. Woody came home this morning after his overnight stay at the Vets to have his leg put in a stookie. So he came home like a wounded hero complete with white bandage, which he didnt bother about until Bunny thought it was a bone and tried to take it from him. Now the bone is set there is no pain and he is settling home in his wee cage, enjoying the attention.

wee Bunny, what a shame to discover it wasnt a bone after all, well not one that was edible. Woody looks so gorgeous sitting in his kennel. I couldnt help but notice how clean his kennel looked, Presley took everything that moved into his, then ripped everything to pieces, he wasnt content until all the bedding was ripped and he was surrounded by thousands of pieces of cardboard, paper, toys and a good dollop of mud from the garden..the more mess the better in his eyes Sadly nothing has changed with him either!! Glad to hear Woody is on the mend, and as we all know...the trouble now, is keeping their movements restricted, you may be in for a few heart stopping moments when he starts running around! Look forward to hearing how he is doing x.
Just caught up with Woody's accident. These things can happen so quickly with puppies.....I know of one that broke its tibia merely tripping on the step from the garden into the kitchen.
Poor wee soul....lots of best wishes to him for a speedy recovery. Eleanorxxxx
