Just like to announce a new addition to the Murray/Melville household, we picked him up early this afternoon....dog or fox you decide...
....it's a dog!!
When Dave first received the pictures of Somme and heard his story we felt really sorry for him, from his pictures he looked like such a gentle old soul so we went over to see him this afternoon and brought him home with us. He's been well looked after despite spending 5 months in a very small garden shed. Because of his fox like face we've renamed him 'BASIL'. He's settled in well so far with the other 6 hounds, he's no idea what a bed, sofa or treats really are (yet!) He was used for hunting for years and is very badly scarred all over his face and body, we think it makes him more handsome though!
Aww well done you for taking such an oldie, SUCKERS LOL Are you keeping him or is he a foster? I know i keep saying it , but i wish i could take Millie's bro Bit gutted i turned him down at the xmas show for being quite hyper, wasn't his fault it was such a false environment to judge what he'd really be like. Nevermind, Willow got a home from it
Oh thats great for taking on "Basil" He really suits his name. You can see all his old wounds from the pics. Bet you can't wait to spoil him rotten and show him home comforts. He deserves it. Marian.
Dave wrote:lol Jennifer.....5 of the other 6 dogs were all fosters too, we're not very good at it, I think he'll be staying for a long time..
Thats great news for Basil, quite a good name for you Dave or did Dawn choose it? Bet he'll be delighted he's in a home, can't believe he was in a shed
Congratulations on your lastest foster/adoptee?, Basil suits him just fine and I think he looks very distinguished with his scars of life, each one telling its own story. He is one very lucky hound to be with you and may all his future years be nothing but the best. Nora

He looks like such a sweetheart. Love the name, as you say it really suits him. So glad he is now with the 2 of you., he will come on leaps and bounds.
You never know Dawn, Presley might even be willing to lend a hand in the training department
Wee old soul - he's so handsome. That second photo shows his beautiful face and eyes to perfection. Am glad he's got a lovely home to enjoy the rest of his life in. I'm sure he'll get all the creature comforts and treats sussed soon.
Congratulations to both of you! Basil's found a fantastic home and I look forward to hearing how he's settling down and learning about the home comforts he's never had till now. He's a lovely foxy boy!
