The BBC spent hours yesterday filming at the Langbank kennels, which will hopefully be included in a program on Animal Rescue being broadcast in late July. They filmed volunteers walking dogs, etc. and interviewed Denise, Rachel, Linda, and myself about GAL's history, some of the dogs, and how GAL works. They also got some nice shots of Hogan and Zak running around on the fore-shore.
Thanks to all the volunteers who helped with the filming, and to Siouxsie who helped me organise the filming with the BBC. I'll let everyone know as soon as the broadcast is confirmed and I know when it'll go out.
The BBC filmed a dozen or so different dogs pulling big eyes straight at the camera. Anyone who doesn't want to adopt one has a heart of stone. (I'm slightly surprised we didn't go home with a third hound, but I'm not sure any of them would have coped with Zak and Tara.)
Much as I'd like to take more credit for all this, the idea came from the celebrity judging our virtual dog show. (Am I allowed to say who that is yet?) She's one of the presenters on the show, and wanted GAL to appear. Because I was organising the online dog show with her agents, I got a call telling me that the BBC had been told to put GAL on the TV show, and they would be calling me soon, and if I hadn't heard from the BBC in a week to let the agent know so he could sort it out. Lot of respect for this woman - she's using her position to do a lot of good.

It has already been said on a couple of posts so no worries. There will be a formal anouncement of all of the Online Dog show details on Friday.
They say it's not what you know, but who you know. With a cause as deserving as GAL who cares how the word gets out, just as long as the hounds get noticed and get new homes. Well done to everyone concerned I applaud your efforts. (I'd post a wee thing clapping it's hands, but the technology is beyond my capabilities)
Big claps on the back to you, Graham, and everyone else who helped out down at Langbank for the filming. I can't wait to see the programme on TV and to see if more dogs are rehomed afterwards. It's great PR for GAL!
