Sadly Dilly has had to be returned to GAL because of one or two issues. She only arrived yesterday so is still settling in but is loving the company of the other dogs. She is so friendly and happy - they spent half an hour running all over the house, up and down stairs and over sofas, when she first arrived.

She has some work to do but has far more in her favour than against and is going to make someone a fantastic pet.

Dilly asleep

She can sit, down, stay, leave, give a paw, seems to have good recall, and is generally very well behaved and is housetrained and healthy, not to mention being very pretty. She also sleeps happily in her bed in the bedroom without trying to get up there with you - that's better than my own dogs who insist on squishing me!

It was so sad to hear that things didn't work out for Dilly, she is an extremely adorable little girl and it is good to hear she is with you, Glenda.

Having met Dilly yesterday I'm sure she will find a new home soon. She is adorable and in the best place to address her "issues".

Let's hope Dilly will flourish in your care, iron out those issues (that every dog has a few of!) and find a forever home soon x

What a shame - hope all the problems are ironed out soon and she can settle in a forever home.  She's so pretty.  aww

She's lovely, Glenda! Is there a bit of Saluki in there, do you think? She sounds really well trained and I hope she's not waiting long for her new home!

It did occur to me that there might be Saluki in there. Her face seems very saluki like.

The good news is that she's settling in very well. She's very quiet and very well behaved (although Archie is trying his hardest to teach her that she's supposed to bark at every single person who walks past the window! It's his job and he's obviously looking for an apprentice).

Her issues are food guarding and separation anxiety but I think she's improved just having the company of another dog. While she can be bossy with the others she loves having their company. She did not like to be confined at all however she's starting to like her indoor kennel more and after a few treats in there will go in voluntarily to sleep and can now be left in the house for short periods without incident. She does definitely believe that any treat that's not already half swallowed belongs to her but she is making progress and being asked to work (patiently sit and a paw) for every one. I can also remove her food bowl without incident since she now realises removing things is a good thing because magically cheese appears in it so it's a more than fair swap. wink
