Pair disciplined over dog

Two Midlothian police officers have been disciplined after they put a greyhound dog in a kennel and forgot about it for 10 days.

The dead dog was only found when officers at Dalkeith station noticed a smell coming from the kennels.

Lothian and Borders Police said the officers had been disciplined after an inquiry. They still work for the force.

As a former police officer, I know that "being disciplined" usually just means being transferred to another station to work at. Not much of a punishment really.

furious  If that's all that happened to the officers in question then it's not good enough! furious

I do feel that the police have a difficult job and admire the work they do (most of the time) but this is negligence! hmm
