Just to say hello to everyone who uses the website and to introduce ourselves. We are Joe and Liz from East Kilbride and we got to know about GAL from doing voluntary work at the Bothwell SSPCA centre. We have short term fostered a few greyhounds and lurchers from there including lovely Rowan who has recently appeared on the forum along with his mum Denise. He was a very special dog to us and we were so glad that he found a loving home as we are unable to take on a dog permanently. We are so glad that organisations like GAL are out there to make sure these fantastic dogs find good homes.
Good to hear from you - you foster parents are the real stars as you nurture and teach dogs the basics and then hand them over to forever homes. I couldn't do it - I'd want to keep them all!
Look forward to hearing more about your foster babies.
Hi there Jo and Liz, it has been a pleasure to have Rowen in our family, you have done an amazing job, it is so clear that Rowen remembers Joe, every time we meet he wants to jump on him and lick him to death He is such a good boy, always comes when i call him and just loves the kids (they share there dinners) i have some really good pic's of him but i'm not very good at getting them on my posts next time we meet i'll take a few pic's of you with him and send them to you if you like. I hope to see you soon, Love Rowen & Denise
Hi there! I think I've met you a couple of times at Bothwell and with Rowan. Glad to hear you're still doing the fostering. It must be such a rewarding experience - particularly when you are able to follow their progress on here!
Well done on the fostering work it is such an amazing job that you do and I agree with the above posts I couldn't do it coz I couldn't give them up. And we know the dogs appreciate all you do too so a big big thanks from me and of course RED
