I'm awfy excited now, Cara was at the vet this morning and a scan confirmed that she is 'up the duff' puppies due around 15th Dec. I'm still on call so can't celebrate yet, but I will be having a gin or two next week.
Thanks for the congrats, Cara has had the morning boak for a few days, but is back on form now, eating well. Dad is a very sweet natured 1st cross Deerhound greyhound. He's won a bit at Lurcher Shows and has been shown by his four year old handler. He is about an inch taller than her and 6kg heavier so they are well matched size wise. His young owner applied lip gloss to the boy for his date with Cara, she said it was in case he wanted to kiss his girlfriend
Did you say "PUPPIES" you must keep us updated and let us know as soon as they are born with pictures. Great news and Cara should make a wonderful mummy. Nora

Congratulations,I love being hands on at the birth, hope you have lots of success with the litter,it's still one of the greatest things I think I've ever seen, and I hope you get lots of good homes for the wee ones when they are older.
Waiting list of homes for these wee puppies, I wouldn't have let her have them if there were no homes waiting. If she has LOADS I will keep any leftovers for myself I won't have to do homechecks because I already know the people (friends and family) that want one or more of Caras babies. I tried to push these folk on to rehoming rescues, but it was not to be. I have to agree with midas about being at the birth, nerveracking but wonderful. If people are interested I will try and keep a diary of photos and (if I can borrow one) video. Breeding is a contentious issue on rescue sites and I would not like to post anything that will cause offence.
Doesn't offend me in the slightest - the fact that you have homes lined up for the puppies that you know and trust is great. At least you know they are going to be looked after.
I'd love to see a photo diary of the progress of the wee ones.
