Firstly Mia sadly passed away on 17th November. She deterioated very quickly & there was nothing else that could be done to help her.She is going to be sadly missed by us all as a family. She really was a 1 in a million dog. To say i am devastated is a understatement. I just can't stop crying. I will be getting her ashes back in about 1 weeks time as i believe she should be with me. So R.I.P Mia i will always love you.
Now Scooby. As you know Scooby broken his leg in a second place. He has been bandaged up for 6 weeks & the bone was not healing/binding at all. Today (tues) he had to have his leg amputated. He is very sore, swollen & badly bruised. His leg is weeping but its what we are to expect. He is home & is comfortable with many painkillers & antibiotics.
The poor wee man has been so brave & the vet reassures us that he will cope fine once he is fully healed. I'll be wrapping him up in cotton wool from now on.
He has yet another long road to recovery again. He's going back to the vets for his first check up on Friday.
So thats my update for now.
XxX

So sorry to hear about Mia, she put up a brave fight. Poor wee Scooby, what a long and traumatic time you've had with him. Hopefully all will go well now and his recovery is in sight. Give him hugs from me.
I am sorry to hear about your sad loss of your girl Mia. Talking about her, and looking through photos, during this time of sorrow will bring some comfort and help you recall and treasure the happy times you spent together.
As for Scooby, may he go from strength to strength and cope well. Once he is healed, you will feel relieved that the pain he once suffered with the sore leg has now totally gone.
Scooby had his first check up today & Jane (vet) is very happy with his progress which i'm pleased about too. If all goes well he should have his stitches out on 10th Dec.
I also recieved Mias ashes today. That certainly started the waterworks off again for me. They came in a lovely box, a wee bouquet of flowers & a certificate. They have taken pride of place in my glass wall cabinet & i'm pleased to say i have her home where she belongs now.
I will keep you all updated with Scoobys progress.
I would also like to thank everybody for all your kind words over me losing Mia & Scoobys long journey of his leg, so yes thank you everybody it really means the world to me knowing there are so many kind people on this board.

I am glad Mia is home and know how sad that delivery must have been, when my cat Toots died last year it all seemed very unreal until about ten days later when my vet sent me a condolence card. When I opened the card it was a real moment of finality as I realised she had absolutely gone. My thoughts are with you and your gang. marie
I wish also to send you my condolances about Mia! It is just such a painful thing to have to go through and like so many have said - time does pass and what feels so painful now will eventually bring back all the happy memories. My one dog died 11 years ago this past week and while I still cry... I do think of all the happy times. I just wish back then they would allow you their ashes. Unfortunately, they take them away so I have nothing but photos! You have her with you always!
And I really hope that Scooby gets better soon. My hope he is all better by christmas too! take care and keep us posted. If we, GAL, can do anything to help... Linda
