Annabel and her puppy Corky are doing fine. Corky is really on the move, clambering all over her and the bed. Mum is eating well and seems to be taking good care of her baby. She only looks around a year old, poor girl. She is very afraid but does not show any fear aggression. She is allowing me to sit with her and stroke her albeit with a rather anxious look on her face. We are handling Corky alot and hopefully he won't pick up on mum's fear of humans too much. The vet hasn't looked at her legs yet. We want her to settle down for a couple of days first as she has had enough upheaval in the last few days. Her legs are in such a mess I am not sure anything can be done for them. I think she will have to go to a specialist dog orthopaedic surgeon that there is a few hours drive from here in Alicante for a proper verdict as to what can (or can't) be done. He is one of the top guys in Spain and I think is likely to be the only chance there is of doing anything for her.
They both look much better,it's understandable that she gets a bit anxious around humans, the wee one looks so cute,I hope something can be done for her legs, but she's come this far so maybe she will find that special someone who will love her as she is,I know I could!!!good luck with the specialist.looking forward to hearing how it all goes.
Thanks for the update Valerie, what would have happened to her God only knows. Love the names you have chosen, as for her legs just hope something can be done. All the very best. Nora

She really suits the name Annabel I think anyone would love her no matter what - such a gentle looking soul and such resilience. Thanks for the photos. It is great to see them getting the love they deserve x
Fingers crossed that something can be done for Annabels legs she has youth on her side and it's amazing what they can do now, one of our cats had compound fractures in both front legs, after several operations, bone grafts, pins, plates and a lot of cage rest, she recovered well, only thing is she walks on her feet rather than toes with a bit of a weird gait Little Corky is very cute, he's so lucky you found him, I'm sure he'll be a big hit with all the volunteers at the shelter, and will find a loving home when he is old enough. Please keep us updated.

ROLL ON MARCH
Thank you for the update, she is such a brave girl and I hope someone takes her home to love her as much as she loves her baby. Is she in a lot of pain with her legs ?
It's great to see them both safe, secure and getting the TLC that they obviously need. At least they both now have a real chance of finding love and happiness with a family. I hope they find the homes that they deserve soon. Good luck with the specialist - hope something can be done to improve her mobility.
