Forget the Spŕnish, one of the biggest problems we now have at our shelter is British people returning to the Uk and dumping their pets. These poor dogs have been used to a home life and now end up in our shelter. In the past week we have had four such dogs dumped on us. Arriving at work this morning I was greeted by a huge boxer and a terrified Breton Spaniel cross who had been tied at our gate over night. The nights are freezing at the moment and these poor dogs were absolutely frozen. They are terrified and bewildered. With them was a note saying that it is hoped that we find them new families who will "love them as much as we have done" , there were also instructions as to what type of home I should seek for them and to whom I should or should not home them?????? A few months ago we had two 10 year old labs dumped here who had actually been brought over from the UK but their horrible owner never had the rabies blood test done in order to take them back when his spanish bubble burst. How can people do this? It really is beyond me and makes me bloody furious.
That's awful. Imagine not wanting to take your pet home with you! I don't understand the mentality of these people. Those poor dogs.
To have the audacity to tell you what kind of home you should be looking for - yes, we know, anyone that's not like the "caring" and "loving" owners who loved their pet so much they tied them to a gate overnight in freezing temperatures!!!!!
This type of thing so infuriates me, in general very selfish people, why take on a bl@@dy animal if you can't keep it for life They could at least have had the decency to face you and ask if you could take them, but to leave them in the freezing cold and leave a note
On a lighter note, I love you new Avatar, Lulu is just so cute.

ROLL ON MARCH
Thats hellish, and I bet it will happen more and more now that so many people are moving abroad, how cowardly and mean to abandon these poor dogs, but one things for sure they will get plenty of love and tlc with you, they never left you a donation I bet.The same or worse should be done to them.
What can you say, I know that when I moved house it was made clear from the start that we had the dogs( only 3 then ) and they would have to come with us. The only thing was I had 36 show chickens and they could not come with us so I found each and everyone of them a home, it broke my heart to part with them but at least I knew that I had done my best for them. People are fickle and sadly in this day and age THINGS are expendable which seems to include animals and humans, so sad!!!! Nora

It is an absolute disgrace. Those dogs probably gave them every ounce of love that they had to give and only got indifference in return. And how very cowardly to not even speak to you face to face.
It's horrendous, the thing is that with new pet passports and things pets can travel abroad in a relativly easy way. My friend just moved to Germany and her two cats went with her and it only took a bit of advance planning.
If I ever move house both Craig and I know Jet will be with us wherever we go.
