Just thought I would let you know how the kennel dogs are and news of homings etc.,All the dogs are well and had lots of nice stuff for xmas, the wet weathers a bit of a bummer as they aren't that keen on going out in it,lol,Big Brindle Bobbie is making inroads to his new home with our friend Kathleen, some of you will remember her other lovely boy Bobbie who sadly died only ten weeks after she took him home,I had b,Bobby over for his first visit the other day and it all went well,Kathleens five greys were good with him.Wee Tommy, ours and a lot of other folks favourite has found his forever home and is being spoiled rotten by his new mum and dad,the very striking Mo Jo also left for his forever home last Sunday and was driven off in a rather swish Jaguar car,the best news of all is, drum roll please!!!!EUGENE IS GOING TO A FOSTER HOMEat long last after almost TWO YEARS our Eugene is going into a home,YYYYAAAAAAYYYYY WE ARE SO HAPPY :FLOAT:There are possible homes too for Holly,Topper, and a foster home For Sonny.Of course there are more dogs to come in but fantastic news that the long timers are getting what they deserve. Fingers crossed it all works out for them.
Really good to get the update on the residents. Am delighted for Tommy - he's a real character and I'm really jealous of the lucky people that got to take him home. Also delighted for Mojo - he's a lovely lad too. I'm quite sure that Bobby will be thrilled with his new home and I'm thrilled for him too.
I hope the homes for Holly and Topper work out and come to pass. Topper is such a sweetie.
The best bit of news, as far as I'm concerned, is that Eugene is getting a chance to find out what life in a home should be like. The change in him since I first met him (under Rachel, Eddie and Kathleen's careful ministrations) has been incredible. I only hope the progress continues in the foster home and that it leads to the home he so richly deserves.
I am the lucky person to have the gorgeous Eugene as a foster dog and he should be arriving on Friday. I have his room all ready for him, with toys and a duvet etc and he will be sharing with my current lurcher Brook. I got Brook from GAL 18 months ago.
All I can say is the people who assessed Eugene know my living circumstances and Brooks personality and thought it would be a good match for him, a nice quiet environment for him to have the space, time and TLC he needs to get him used to a home.
He will be my first foster dog so I hope to do him and those who recommended me as his foster mum proud.
Hi Carole,No pressure at all!!!lol, you will love Eugene his shy retiring nature put people off him,he's great when you get to know him,he had a good owner/trainer who spent a lot of time and money getting his leg sorted in order that he could be handed over, and to find a home for him.He does limp and sometimes he is better some days than others, he has had Metacalm in the past but didn't need to be kept on it,he does not like crowds or being crowded by groups of people coming towards him but he has come on in leaps and bounds and goes to the park now and in the car he just needs time,he was the same when he raced they kept everyone away from the kennels and the entrance to the track and he would fine once he got out there I'm sure he will blossom in your care and we can't wait to hear how he comes on,good luck.
No pressure intended. I'm sure, with another dog to show him the ropes, Eugene will soon get the hang of it. He's such a sweetheart when you get to know him. I'm just really pleased he's getting a chance.
Fantastic news for all the dogs concerned. I'm so pleased for Eugene too. What a long time to be in kennels. Let's hope things work out for him. No pressure though!
that's fantastic news! I'm especially chuffed for Eugene, he really deserves some home comforts!. Rachel, did Topper go to the lady who had her eye on him at the can collection day?
