Hi

I just had to say awwww! Isn't Douglas gorgeous? And he's got the typical grey pose worked out already - on his back and fast asleep. Hope the wee guy gets on OK at the vet in 3 weeks time. I'll be tuning in to see how he gets on.

He's a real cutie! and not the only one! Unbelievable we've had 15 pups surrendered to us in the last 2 weeks, this will be the third Christmas in a row that GAL's foster homes have been full of pups.

The 15 pups come from 5 different litters, 'Douglas' is a Greyhound and came with his brother and sister into GAL's care (we're also looking for a home for Lulu (the mum)) she's going to a GAL foster home next weekend.

The other pups are all lurchers 5, 4, 2 & 1 pup respecitvely from 4 different litters (mostly girls!)

We haven't advertised them on the web yet (it's just too close to Christmas for that!) but through word of mouth we've found homes for 1 of the Greyhounds and 3 of the Lurchers already. We'll be advertising them after Christmas!

cheers

Dave

Hi Dave

Good idea not to advertise the pups just before Christmas! What a handful, though - 15 PUPS! I'm looking forward to seeing them on the site in the New Year.

Hope Barney's Mum and Dad took one of the lurcher pups. I know they were going to see them just after the Christmas show. It was great to see Barney looking so well and happy with his new owners - he's like a new dog - not the bedraggled and underweight boy he was when we first saw him. I think his back legs (although not perfect) are moving better too and his thigh muscles are a lot better toned.

Delighted to see so many dogs getting new homes either at or just after the Christmas show. All the events are so worthwhile when they get results like that!

Finally, hope Douglas is behaving himself and that the vet DID mishear his heart murmur!

Hi Glenda

Love Douglas's new picture. Bargain Bin indeed! He's worth his weight in gold, that wee chap. He'd get a piece at my door any day.

I've got a pup's bed here that someone handed to me for GAL. I'll get it to you at the next event we're at. I think it might be a bit too small for Douglas and his littermates, though. It's either meant for smaller breeds or much younger pups, but you'll probably use it before I will!

See you soon!

Christine

Thanks Christine.

This was a temporary measure, honest! He usually takes over one of the biggest beds and makes himself looooong. No-one will shift him once he's zonked out.

Couldn't you just put him between 2 slices of bread and eat him?!

I've just seen the lurcher pups on the website too - oh my goodness, how totally adorable are they?! Especially the wee grey one - how very very pretty!!!  (Can we squeeze another one in?!!!! - no probably not!).

Look forward to seeing the other darlings in the new year!

Sharon
