Blimey, now heading into the fourth month of the year - how scary is that?!
Fingers crossed we have another bright, sunny day for our monthly dog walk at Strathclyde Park.
Come along and show off your lovely doggies or come and meet some new friends:
Sunday, 6 April 11 a.m. through to 1 p.m. Water Sports Centre Car Park, Strathclyde Park, MOTHERWELL
Volunteers from the Greyhound Awareness League will be present and happy to answer any of your queries - easy to recognise as we will be wearing our hi-viz tabards.
Look forward to seeing you and your heavenly hounds!
Yippee Red speaking my humans are going to bring me along yippee.....
They are wondering if mummy should offer to walk one of the other dogs to help but what do you think she is wondering if maybe as it is our first walk she shouldn't trust me and daddy to behave as if..........................
She thinks she will just bring me this time but if we all behave she will offer to bring along someone from auntie rachels as we pass by. So see you all on Sunday I am so excited I am leaping around ( well in my mind I am while sitting here on the couch) he he
Am hoping to get to this one - even just for an hour - feel like I havent been at one for ages!!!
And I've heard a rumour that a rather gorgeous brindle boy who's in foster may be putting in an appearance - so he'll be looking for lots of cuddles from everyone!!
Des and I have sworn that we will definitely be at this one with the lovely you'd-never-know-she-was-ever-baldy Misty (unless of course it is absolutely chucking it down).
Not sure how Misty will be with so many dogs but we'll play it by ear and given that they are all on lead, I'm hoping there will not be too much instant bum sniffing (Misty seems to like a slow courtship when it comes to doggies manners!).
I think she'll happily take a petting from any 2 legged folks though!
If Auntie Jacqui makes it I might get along as well. She's looking after me while my mum goes to look at houses, don't know why, we have a very good house as it is At least I'll get to play with Annie and Nan for a few hours, yippee Mason
Sorry we didn't make it - I've come down with a stinking cold and spent the day wrapped up warm and occasionally waking myself up with my snores. Had my night nurse and off to bed now to keep Des awake with snores. All looked lovely above, hope you all had a good day. D
Mason must have had a great time, he's been on the sofa since I got him home from Jacqui's sound asleep! Can't wait til I'm local enough to make the walks regularly with him Marie
It was a great day for GAL - 2 applications for dogs and a foster application! I was just glad I could go home to thaw out! Luckily it stayed dry this time!
Thanks to everyone who came out - I saw Ollie (joan), Shep & Jamie (lorna), Amelie (blair & janice), Macy (ray, deb & Jonathan) Sammy (both) and of course we had Darcy, Mickey, Brandston, Sindy, Harry and Boss there strutting their stuff! Was that Stitch & co too?
I apologize if I left anyone else out - my brain froze pretty much an hour into the walk!
It was a lovely walk and we enjoyed meeting up with everyone. I don't suppose it would be possible to hold one just once in a while a bit nearer to us on the far west. We have a lot of greys Dunoon way now that are from Gal. Understand that Gal can't get everywhere but perhaps somewhere west of glasgow, or Greenoch etc. I know it sounds selfish but I would love to show the locals here how good an organisation gal is. They see our dogs but not much else. Joyce is here a lot and maybe she could say whether she thinks this possible. Anyway we had a lovely time. Even tho I had to get up so early to make it, and Red found it hard to have his breakfast so early (lazy boy doesn't usually get downstairs till at least 9).
I'd be up for that.. and I'm sure that man with a veritable kennelworth of Greys would make up a large percent of appearances.. lol
Where and when..
Anyone know of a good walk other than my own area of Balloch Park.. or even there if suitable to all... Might even be a possible Gal Awareness event given the number of Greys in the area..
Anything I can do to assist in setting up such event/s just let me know and forward any relevant info on legalities etc...
I think as the weather is starting - and hopefully staying nicer - that we could have a dog walk held in various places!! Nothing like a change in scenery!
So Joyce will start to look at dates for Dunoon - and I wouldn't mind coming to that as it is such a lovely place and I'll get with Margo to look at holding one up in Alexandria way.
Are there other areas we should look at??? Comments please!
