Well Linda dropped off another foster for me on Friday. After trying lots of names including, Buster, Banjo, Bingo, Oscar and Picasso, he seems to be responding well to Charlie. So thats what I'm calling him.
It wont be long before he gets a forever home, not only is a gorgeous dog, but he is really friendly and wants to give lots of kisses and gets lots of attention. He does need to learn some manners as he frequently jumps up but does appear to be housetrained, after some early instances that we will put down to him being in a new environment.
He is doing really well with the cats and saying 'leave it' in a gruff voice does make him look at me and away from the cats which is great.
Here are a couple of pics of the boy, who unfortunatly has a wee sore tail which, because he wags it so much, opens the wound so has a sock round the end of it to try and prevent it from opening when it hits something.
He definitely looks a handsome boy, Carole. Charlie does suit him too. Bet he's lapping up his home comforts. Hope Brook is enjoying another new friend. Well done for taking in another foster.
Am glad he's enjoying the home comforts - he's such a sweetheart. Has he learned not to take the fingers off you when you give him a treat yet?
Afraid he is still a bit snappy when taking treats, but he is not food posessive. When eating from his bowl he has allowed me to pet him and even lift the bowl away while food still in it and him still trying to eat it!! I try to give Brook a treat first while holding Charlie then give him his, he is a wee bit pushy with her and because she is so submissive would let him steal anything and everything - even the best bits of the grass to smell!!
He is really just an excitable big boy, and who can blame him now living in a home will lots of new things!!
I will of course update on his first weeks progress - and antics - probably post on Sunday evening.
