Let me tell you all about Griss. He came from Livingston, was bought from a trainer with his 2 brothers by a woman who reads the yellow paper, Supermart. She had them for a month and Griss who had lost one quarter of his tail while with the trainer needed vet treatment which the woman could not afford, so along came GAL, then Carole Robinson who kept him for one night and never got a wink of sleep due to the stress and pain the dog was in. I then took him from Carole to the vet and he is with me for a while. He's a big puppy and is really good under his stressful circumstances. I called him Griss cos I love the series CSI and Gil Grissom is a bit of alright.
Griss will make someone a super dog, he needs TLC and a bit of training on the lead. If I tell him to Lie down he does it. Amazing. All the other dogs just look at him as if he was a fool to obey my commands, so if your looking for a young sturdy sized grey with doleful eyes and hopefully 3/4 of a tail then look no further than Gil Grissom G.A.L.
here's a piccy of Griss, he's cute, hopefully he'll have most of his tail left after his vet visit next week, the lady who bought him and his 2 brothers couldn't afford to get it treated and was actually giving him asprin for the pain! The lady has homed one of the other brothers herself but the remaining one (temporarily called Scoobie) will be going to a GAL foster home this weekend..
That's not fair putting a picture of him on the page!! How totally gorgeous is he?! I don't have anymore room (unless anyone wants to buy the kids off me! !) and I wish I did!
Sigh, hope he finds a home soon!!

I agree with you, Sharon. Griss is a wee smasher! Hope he recovers from his tail injury soon. Poor mite - he must have been in a lot of pain.
Dave - what a picture - it's soooooo tempting. But I say that about all the dogs when I see their photos and when I meet them at events. Billy just sighs and says I can't have them all. I would if I could. Like one of the other members of the GAL forum I'll probably be next to be banned from looking at their pictures.
Hi an update on Griss. He is off to Rachels tomorrow to be looked after as I have too many dogs here to give him what he needs. His tail is looking better, he is playing now and has a mad half hour in the morning. I'll be sad to let him go but Im sure it wont be long until he finds his forever home. He would make a great family pet as there is not an ounce of badness in him. Anyone looking for number 2 or 3 should certainly look this chap up. Im sure Dave will let us know when he has been rehomed.
Couldn't resist it but here's a piccy of Griss's brother HARVEY, another stunner, he's meeting a nice family this weekend who will hopefully take him home with them!
Hiya, Grissom, is at Rachels at the moment and doing fine. I don't think he is any closer to finding a home yet, but Dave would be able to answer that better.
It's a close run thing but I'd say Griss wins (just) in the better looking stakes, wish I could say he's close to getting a home but new applicants are still few and far between at the mo and sadly we have new dogs in abundance!! Anyways Sharon I'm sure he'd suit the name 'Barney' and fit nicely in tha back of that shiny new Estate care with Fred & Wilma!..
I think Chas has taken a shine to the lurcher that has been at Bothwell for some time - Hugh? If, however, he's gone by the time we come back from my parents at Easter, who knows?!!! (whispers .... I think he would suit being called Barney too!)

Got a couple of small Greyhound bitches in just now, bout Wilma sized! Struggling a wee bit for anything smaller than that, there's MEG (she's on the web) however she has problems with other dogs! JET (on the web) 7yr old Lurcher girl. Got 2 new male lurchers in this week, BROXY & TYLER, going by their descriptions they might be smaller dogs but they are still 'pending' till we get volunteers to them for assessment..
Just to let you all know, Harvey met his potential new family at the weekend, behaved himself really well and will be off to his new home with them next weekend!...
Great news for Griss! Any news on his tail - hope it healed without him losing part of it? Anyway he'll be like a dog with two tails now that he's found a super home!
I am quite often in the Dunoon area as my parents live in Innellan (near Dunoon). I shall have to keep my eyes peeled for a brindle/white greyhound boy with a short tail.
