We have been giving Tic/flea treatment & worming tablets every 3 months, but recently I have heard different opinions i.e. 6 months or even yearly!!?  What do most other people do for their dogs?

Murphy gets Frontline Spot on flea treatment every 2mths-3mths all year round & gets his Drontal worming tablets every 3 mths without fail (likes horse poo when he has the chance so dont risk this one at all as Ive seen many dogs & cats with worms now & it can really make them poorly if bad enough...)

Pearly gets Frontline every 2 months during the winter and every month during the summer. There are a handful of deer round where we go walking and she has picked up a couple of ticks in the past. We give her Drontal Plus every three months.

And Harry will get the same!

ps: it's a pricey business, this keeping your doogles safe from infestation.

If your dog gets a tick, the quickest way to get rid is just to cover it completely in Vaseline (the tick that is, not the dog). When they have their heads buried in their host, they breath through thier skin. - if you stop them breathing, they die within hours and can safely be removed without any chance of them leaving their head.

That's a great tip, UCE! Thanks. The thought of a slippery Vaseline covered dog made me laugh - some of them are hard enough to catch as it is!
