Hi

Ok this is a bit of a gruesome tail. This afternoon let the guys out as usual, with blankets, water and the like, lovely sunny day little wind. They run around the garden as normal acting like a couple of lunatics all very normal. I go about my sunday buis you know housework and the like, next time I look out the window I discover a dead and 3/4 eaten wood pigeon argh!!!! our guys have some how managed to catch and kill this poor bird. Not only is the scene one to carnage, feathers everywhere but well I am sure u can picture the rest.

My fear is now that they may have swallowed bones  that may cause them problems and I was wondering what other nasties they could have picked up worms, mites and so on. If anyone can advise I would be very grateful.

This I have to say, I am quite sure was instigated by Dornie as she will pick anything up, stalk birds and generaly cause as much mischief as poss. She has now jumped up and stolen 2 of my wooden bird feeders eaten any seeds and totaly destroyed them. Washing off the line is another fav, the list is almost endless,

So how quiet was your sunday????!!!!

Hi,   Sorry to hear you had such an upsetting Sunday but please dont worry about your dogs eating the pigeon bones etc.   It should do them no harm whatsoever and your dogs' digestive system will simply dissolve and break down the raw bone.  It's usually only cooked bones that cause problems.   Although this appeared a very gruesome act to you, the dogs were only grabbing an opportunity and doing something that is perfectly natural to them so I hope you dont have a sleepless night over it.
