We too are recent newbies and would never look back - don't know why we waited as long as we did, for our greyhound friend - we have Fiddie.
We are also addicted to the website and everyone is so friendly and helpful; tips regarding hot dogs and roses on watering cans are just fab. Furthermore, Carole is a star for helping you and your family be a happy team within and out of the home - we received some good advice and Fiddie is now happier, as are we.
Andy and I wish you all the very best with Taylor and we hope to meet up with you at one of the Awareness Days or at Strathclyde Park.
Great to hear from you and look forward to meeting you sometime at one of the GAL events! I agree the forum is addictive - but you'll meet lots of new friends who'll share advice, tell funny, strange or sad stories about their dogs and lots of other things besides.
It's wonderful you're having a lot of fun with Taylor. You'll soon wonder what you did before she arrived. I must have missed you at the last Strathclyde Park walk - but it was hard to see anything other than the curtain of rain crashing down. Hope to meet you at the next one!

I have spent a lot of today "persuading" my colleagues in London to part with some money for the sponsored walk - you should have seen the moths. I was totally surprised by how many people wanted to adopt a greyhound or made comments about how cute they were. And they were surprised at the amount of work GAL put in in Scotland to rehome these brilliant dogs - think the sob story made the donations bigger!!
I almost exhausted my stock of business cards and many of them will be hitting the website tomorrow just to see all the dogs on there! I did stress that GAL only rehomed in Scotland, but think I have really rasied awareness of greyhounds and put to bed some of the myths that we are all met with regularly!
There may be some greys in the south east getting some new homes soon as one or two of the staff were planning to find a greyhound charity near them to make some enquiries.
That's wonderful, Chas. I'll bet few of the people you spoke to in the South East had thought about greyhounds and lurchers till you spoke to them. The more publicity we can give them, the better! Good for you!
I slightly enhanced the sob stories today whilst I was in my own office in Glasgow and also sent some emails around the country to collegues in offices I'm not likely to visit for a while.
Seems to be working, but didn't have anyone wanting to adopt or making as many positive comments, but they still gave agreed to give me some dosh!! Filled another couple of pages on my sponsor form and I still have a few (ie lots more!!) people I haven't yet manage to speak to!
thank you for your replys nice to meet you all.she loves her cuddles to shes very loving.she burys her head were she can asking for hugs n kisses she can be very playful to,my son went out shopping we had already bought her cuddly bunnies (shes mangled them by the way) he went out and bought her some more ,she loves her squeeky chicken to she goes bonkers with the squeeking runs round the garden all muddy feet.some one stopped me while walking her asking about her and she said she was bitten by one taylor changed her thinking she offered her a doggy biscuit i told her give it to her yourself and so she did she couldnt get over how gentle she was.now she pats taylor when she walks by her.
