Today I had to do some chores in town and felt it would be more cruel to leave Charlie at home pine-ing for my return getting all hot and bothered more than all the dogs have been all day, so I took Charlie with me into town. We avoided the sunshine as best as possible. It was a good excersise in the fact he was unfazed by anything in town except for the mini road sweeper. We had our mobile water bowl in tow and stopped every 15 mins to allow him to drink. Well to cut a long boring story short..... I was waiting outside of WH Smiths in Falkirk when a group of lads walked passed (they didn't even have the guts to speak to me directly) then one of them shouted WHY DON'T YOU FEED YOUR DOG?
AHHHH! IGNORANCE OF SOME PEOPLE !!!
Well ! I shouted back after him "Its a friggin Greyhound - ITS SUPPOSED TO LOOK LIKE THIS Idiot !!!! " If only he could be bothered to discuss the problem he had, he'd have found out that we've only had Charlie for a week now and he is slowly being fattened up a bit and the fact that he's now thinks he's died and gone to heaven after being in the kennels !!!
PERSONALLY I THINK SOME PEOPLE SHOULD KEEP THEIR TRAPS SHUT UNLESS THEY KNOW WHAT THEY ARE TALKING ABOUT !!!!
I can't tell you how much that upset and angered me as this person assumed that I had a cruely treated animal with me and gave the impression I was STARVING him - to be honest Charlie is eating more than the others at meal times as he polishes off everyone else's leftovers.
I hate that too - all the "look at the skinny dog" comments - its too tempting to reply - "geez look at the obese dogs murf" as you point at the fat heaving panting labradors being dragged about (sorry to any lab owners on the forum - but 90% of the ones I meet are all obese & struggle just walking...)
If you bump into these reprebates again & they shout "why dont you feed yer dog" (a the joys of modern education...) just shout back " nah mate - he spits out scheemies".....
eeejits.

hmm, not had any comments like that but it does bring to mind the number of overweight people wandering around. perhaps they should look to their own diet before insulting dogs about which they, very obviously, know nothing.
