Any tips for keeping flies off the dogs? A couple of our favourite walks are just swarming at the moment and they make Zelda and Andie miserable. I have an insect repellant spray I use for myself but don't know if it would be suitable for animal use.....any tips would be appreciated.

A neighbour of mine has a collie cross who suffers badly from midges.  He sprays repellent onto a bandana which Bruno wears around his neck.


Alternatively - walk faster than the flies

In the days when I used to smoke, I found waving a lit cigarette around when walking did the trick !!!!!!

Thanks folks, will try the bandana....either that or I'll have to get the dogs on to the fags....


As regards walking faster, you try that with a golden oldie! He has only one pace....unless he spots a rabbit !
