Just letting you know that Charlie has found his forever home !
The transition from me to the new owner has been absolutely brilliant and I also get to see him everyday - he's a real sweetie.
Borrowed a cage of Esther and Dave yesterday for Marian his new owner but looks like he might just be fine without it which is great.
Marian left him this morning in the livingroom and all the little beggar did was sleep Guess he loves her more than he ever did me no little accidents as yet. He is going for four or more walks a day so I guess he's too tired to consider doing anything naughty!
He has a lovely little rabbit to eat ..... ooooopss play with !!!! though the rabbit isn't so keen to play (I wonder why ???? )
Well I can guarantee that Charlie will be pampered beyound belief until his last breath!
Charlie has had a couple of sleep overs with Marian and he has decided that he'd prefer to sleep downstairs (don't think he's too sure of her staircase yet) and has been more than happy to sleep on his blowup mattress, rugs and pillows - told you he was pampered !!! and yes has been tealeafing tidbits of food here and there !! Cheekie boy !!!
He has landed SO lucky with his new home.
The official handover was to be this coming Friday night but Charlie has settled in SO well I've already done the handover and the next time Charlie is here is only to visit
This means Dave I'm available NOW for another foster dog - just let me know.
Hi, Katrina - that's wonderful news about Charlie. It's great to think of them going off to such a loving home. Well done you for getting him good and ready for it.
Well done Katrina!! Its a very rewarding feeling seeing them settle into home life & then settle with their new family isnt it!! You did a fab job on him - he was such a lovely boy & I was really pleased to meet him at the GALA...
good luck with the next foster!!

That's great news about Charlie getting his wonderful new home! And there's a bonus that you'll see him every day too. What a great job you've done for Charlie - well done!
Well done Katrina for all your hard work with Charlie. You should be very proud of your efforts and I'm sure Charlie will flourish in his forever home.
Here's to the next foster!!

NO MATTER HOW LITTLE MONEY AND HOW FEW POSSESSIONS YOU OWN,HAVING A DOG MAKES YOU RICH.
Well Dave has already contacted me about another emergency foster dog called Maverick. Apparently he is another brindle.... don't know any further details but will get him this week sometime. As my car is in the garage for yesterday and today (hopefully getting it back today) its in the air as to when I can collect him.
Will update you with news of Mav on a new topic soon.
I'll echo that, Suzanne. Teresa, you've homed two beautiful dogs who are great adverts in themselves, and when you talk to interested people, you are also sowing a seed... hopefully to grow into something more than just interest!
I would have to agree.... spreading the word is as important as physically helping the dogs.
I have found having three kids (and yes that does include my hubby) and three dogs plus any minded children (upto 4 or 5 at any one time); that having another extra dog really doesn't make much impact on my life except for maybe not sleeping in my own bed.
The responsibility, satisfaction, and enjoyment of knowing you are helping a dog that in the cases I have handled would almost certainly be PTS is SO rewarding. I have been SO lucky with Charlie being rehomed right opposite my front window. I can keep an eye on him, my kids can take him for a walk, we see him daily and we can see that he is OH SO HAPPY!
So I'd say to anyone thinking of fostering a dog...... JUST DO IT !!!!
I am currently waiting to take in another wee soul ! Maverick (Mav). Still no informtion as to why he is being retired but will give a full update and pics as soon as I can after getting the wee laddie!
If you are interested in Fostering then may I suggest that you get in touch with Dave Melville as there always seems to be a shortage of foster homes.
If you want a chat with me about my experiences then you can email me via this formum (Missy) or you can email me direct at itskyoung@yahoo.co.uk
