This is a good opportunity to remind everyone to check the Fire Evacuation Procedures in their Own Homes!!!
Do your family know what do in the event of a fire?
Do you have smoke alarms and if so, when did you last check the batteries?
Do you all know how you would exit the house in the event of a fire, including the family pets?? (Don't let the children run back into the house to collect their beloved GH, by this time he will have realised the danger and be waiting outside!!)
If you have answered No to any of the above, get a plan in action now!!
Hopefully none of us will ever have to put our 'emergency plans' into action, but better safe than sorry!! PS. Have you unplugged the TV??
actually a very good point Dawn, I'd hate to think it happening but you should all know where you can quickly put yer hands on a collar and lead so you can get the hounds out as quickly as possible in the event of a fire - all ours wear indoor collars, handy for grabbing in emergancies (and also when someone comes to the door!)
