I was the lucky one to become Foster Mum to the two wee beauties who Dave featured in 'Puppy Power'. I collected these two wee buddies from Nicki (emergency foster mum) in Edinburgh and brought them over to the West Coast. I didn't realise they were so small...only about 12 inches high! Names were suggested on the chatroom for the two boys and they are now being called Arron and Presley. Arron is the little quiet one, but def the boss, and Presley is the loveable bull in the china shop. They are a smashing pair, totally inseperable, and so handsome with it...... their picutres don't do them justice. They play together for hours in the back garden, and everyday they are building up their confidence running round. Mac wasn't too sure about them and puts them in their place with a growl when he decides they are overstepping the mark. Denzel is just very confused with these two 'Mini Macs' darting about all over the place and so far, is very cautious when going near them.
These guys are so beautiful and I'm sure the person/family who are lucky enough to get the boys, when they are ready to be rehomed, will have many happy years with them.
Watch this space for the update on the Puppies progress!!
Dawn, Mac, Denzel, Arron and Presley..........my goodness how my family has grown!
I LOVE the names!! Should we give out prizes to anyone who can guess why we thought about Arron and Presley?-- Edited by Carol at 20:22, 2005-08-29
Yes Carol, we should give a prize to the person who named them. The prize is a puppy sitting night, so that Mum can go to bed at 8pm and sleep until 8am!!
hmmmm - I wonder where the names came from Carol!!! Think obese, sparkly suits & toilet seats......(lol) (s-t-i-r)
The pups will have a whale of a time with you Dawn & You likewise!! Cant wait to see some more piccies! & hear all the tales of Mac & Den putting the wee rascals in their places!
Hope you have a good mop to hand! ;)

Hey, great news Dawn Look forward to hearing how they get on. Oh, yes and I will put my name down on the puppy sitting list. Are you having a 'wet the puppies head party'??? I have plent of wine - hee hee hee
Good for you, Dawn. The pups will have a great start with you, Mac and Den to keep them in line. Great names for them, too! Personally don't mind puppy sitting for an evening - it can be very entertaining. It'll be great to hear how you're all getting on!
I'm sorry fiona, never thought, but they are sooo cute that a snuggle cuddle would not of been enough and they would of been in your jacket and spirited off to yours, so in the interest of domestic bliss thought better of it.
What stars these two wee brothers are...........someone is going to be very very lucky!! Aprrox 10-15 weeks old, the vet wasn't sure, but guess what..... how many accidents in the house today???????.............NONE!! And, they SIT or LIE DOWN as their dinner is being served What sweethearts they are! Absolute joys to have around.
Great to hear that Arron and Presley have come to stay with you. They must be enjoying the adventures they are having with Mac and Denzil.
I can just picture everyone out in your garden! Lots of energy to use up before a nice sleep together.
Mac will be their father figure keeping them in line. Mick is doing that with Tinker - growling if he does not think he is behaving like a subordinate dog.
Must say they do look like mini Micks.
great hwat you are doing for them - they will be wonderful dogs.
Delighted the wee guys are doing so well! No accidents at all - that must be a record for such young pups. They seem really well behaved with good manners already and sound as if they'll be easily trained too.
Oh Dawn, you sound smitten and I don't blame you - do you think you might have 3 black greys and a Den?
Dawn that is wonderful news, those two wee guys are great. You are doing such a wonderful job with them. You are not going to be able to say bye when they find a home, your smitten already.
No accidents at all - that must be a record for such young pups.
ooooooops who said no accidents!!! Spoke too soon, the boys made up for it today, but all joking aside they are doing very well in that department, despite our little set back today. They were just having such good fun running around the garden they must have forgotten to do the toilet when they were there. And to see these two wee guys sitting or lying down waiting for their dinner is an absolute joy, wish they would teach Mac to do the same!!
That'll teach you to brag Dawn! I did the same when we fostered Jet and like you payed the price! Least when pups have an accident its a wee puddle, adult dogs, now that a whole different kinda flood..................
awwww...puppy greys! how lovely........never seen one in the flesh, so to speak, only pictures. you lucky devil and i bet they're having a whale of a time with your family.
What a joy these two wee fellas are! House training coming on a treat.
They love chasing each other around the garden, playing with their toys and generally casuing havoc.....just being puppies!!
Presley is the bigger of the two, with four white paws, and picked up on the toilet training aspect very quickly! He is the boisterous one of the two, constantly jumping around, chewing and biting etc etc.....and thats just towards me!! He also managed to 'escape' from his indoor kennel...leaving Aaron inside!!! His next trick is trying to open the door, by pulling on the handle....he has worked out that that is how the door will open!! (fortunately he's not strong enough yet).
Aaron is the smaller one of the two, but so adorable, he is an absolutely georgeous, loving wee boy. He loves to be picked up and cuddled, and objects when its Presleys turn!! You do have to watch that Presley doesn't steal all his food, cos he loves to share his dinner with him.
They are so funny running around the garden, one minute Presley is chasing Aaron, next thing, they disappear and re-appear with Aaron chasing Presley!!
They cuddle up together in the indoor kennel and sleep all night..no accidents!! Mac likes them, except when Presley tries to bite, thats when Mac becomes Victor Meldrew!! But mac does like the kisses from Aaron and looks all shy when he gets a big kiss!!! Denzel on the other hand, isn't prepared to get a bite or a kiss from them!!
They are getting bigger by the day, Presley is going to be a big boy, but Aaron is catching up rapidly!!
would love to see some pics of them now you have worked your magic on them, if you have any
Hi Nicki, I have taken some pictures of the boys in the garden, but I will have to speak nicely to Mr M (again), to see if he could post them for me. I missed a fab photo opportunity tonight, when Presley stook stalk still on Denzels fav spot, by kaz's statue/grave thingy in the garden!!! Something spooky def goes on around that area!!
They are doing so well Nicki and they have grown so much, I have to look twice to make sure I'm not getting them mixed up. Aaron is about the same size Presley was when I first got them. Presley is just going to be the Jolly Green Giant!!!
they sound absolutely delightful - i wish i could be near greyhound puppies, i've only ever seen them in books you must be having a terrific time with them....let's hope their forever home is as good as yours !
Dawn - what joy it must be for you to watch these two wee characters have fun and do all the things that pups like to do! It looks like they're personalities are blossoming as well as their bodies with all the excellent care you're giving them. Well done!
Maybe Den will like them better when they're a bit more grown up, but they seem to be getting along really well with Mac. Mac acting like Victor Meldrew - well I really do not believe that!
Never a dull moment with two puppies in the house.
The puppies sleep in the indoor kennel and are in put in there when I go to work. Now for those familiar with indoor kennel's you will know these are quite large, certainly big enough for a Greyhound or two pups, they stand about 3ft high and the spaces of the 'bars' are 2" x 4"...much bigger than a pups paws. I don't have a large kitchen and the kennel takes up most of the floor space. I have had to get rid of the kitchen table/chairs to accommodate it. Having being used to a 'table' in the kitchen I am guilty of placing items on top of the kennel and learned the hard way that this was not a good idea, when my foster dog Billy chewed his brand new muzzle...he hadn't even had it on, thats how new it was!!
Anyway, I took Mac and Denzel out for their teatime walk but allowed the pups the freedom of the kitchen, ensuring that there was nothing that could harm them. I left some old newspapers on the top and very back of the kennel for mopping up spills!
But I couldn't believe my eyes when I came back in the house........
Presley was sitting on TOP of the kennel throwing the papers down for Aaron to rip to shreads!!!! They were having a ball!!
Previously I have come back to find Presley out of the kennel and Aaron still inside, what a boy!
I'll be ok once I've calmed down and taken my tablets!! The boys will have to be put in the kennel for the next walk.
Being a Single Mum to 1 dog, 1 GH loving Cat and two puppies, isn't good for the blood pressure!
Five happy weeks have passed since I collected the puppies from Nicki, and I must say that I am thoroughly enjoying having the two wee monsters with me. They are both growing at a terrific rate, in fact Presley is now at the stage where lifting him is a bit of a struggle for me and I only just manage to lift Aaron.
They still love to tear round the garden at 100mph chasing each other. I think they could give Mac a run for his money they are so fast now. They automatically sit down when their dinner is put out and are learning the word 'paw'. Presley scoffs his dinner down in the hope that he can steal Aarons. Aaron is a wee gentleman when he is eating, savouring every bite and chewing for Scotland. Presley found a new way to try and steal Arrons dinner. He sneaks up behind him and pulls the dish with his paw right from under Arrons nose, more often than not it spills and Presley scrambles for the rich pickings.....poor Aaron! I usually have to sit with Aaron until he eats his dinner to make sure he actually gets it.
I'm so proud of these wee guys they are just sooooooo wonderful!! Will get some pictures asap.
