Abundance of Squirrels
Permalink Closed

Hi Everyone,

My local area in the west end of Glasgow seesm to be awash with young grey squirrels. Everytime we go out we meet at leat 2 or 3. They drive me and the dogs nuts

Is anyone else noticing such an abundance of grey squirrels this year!  Or am I loosing my marbles! Seems to have been a great breeding season!

The young ones are the worst as they run across the open grass area in full view- linger about on the ground even when they see the dogs.

Charles.

Yip Charles,

even in sunny Alloa, there are loads of squirrels, which as you can imagine delights the dogs, especially first thing in the morning.

Not so good for me, though.  It's not fun trying to haul Whistler away from the foot of a tree before you've even woken up.

Charles,

It's just the same on the south side of Glasgow.  Queens Park is full of squirrels - they outnumber the rabbits 3 to 1!  Makes for some interesting walks - Fiddie doesn't know where to look and ends up tieing himself in knots.  My arms are aching.

They must be migrating down to Auchinleck.
Saw my very first squirrel in our garden on Monday, well it was tapping the the livingroom window. Ben saw it too, so the score at the moment is Squirrel 1, Ben 0. My mob were to tired to get up............
