During the last few week we have noticed a bit of a change in Dexter. Since we got him two years ago (when he was 11mnths, he was 3 in Sept) he acted like a big pup all the time, wanting to play constantly. Now he plays occasionally but just seems more aloof and down right grouchy at times. He and Ben (foster dog) did have a bit of a fight/argument the first weekend. But that was weeks ago with nothing since from anyone, and to be honest I'm not sure if Dexter wasn't the one who started it. (Just with his tude at the moment!).
He wasn't like this with Jet our first foster dog. Maybe his nose was out of joint for a wee while but he played with him after a while. He does cuddle Ben a times when they are all sleeping, so is he jealous or just growin up into an adult? (Oh and he was neutured when we got him)
It could well be that Dexter is getting more grown-up and more aloof with other dogs. But I'm sure he'll still want to play from time to time, but not constantly the way a pup does! I've met Dexter and he's a gorgeous big fella! He likes to know what's going on all the time, doesn't he?
Yup Dexter likes to be in the thick of things! He just has to know what your doin! He probably is just growin up as he has founf his growl now, but he is also more aloof with us too. Just hope we aren't upsetting him by fostering dogs.
