I am so so shocked that animal mistreatment has came to THIS.I can't believe anyone could do this and even worse while the animals are ALIVE.I'm extremely angry about it and have signed the petition.

Hi Shawn re this being a hoax - the RSPCA dont seem to think so - got this email through today. Im sure they wouldnt still be following it up if it was thought to be false...

SHARK BAIT NEWS

Thank you to everyone that signed our shark bait petition and wrote to the
French Embassy about fishermen using dogs as live bait off the coast of Reunion
Island in the Indian Ocean. We had an amazing response with 200,000 people
signing our online petition!

Last week, representatives from the RSPCA delivered the petitions and hundreds
of individual letters of protest to the French Embassy in London. The French
authorities have assured us they are taking the issue very seriously and have
already prosecuted one fisherman.

We are delighted with the number of people that responded to our petition - it
proves how important and effective group action is.

TAKE ACTION AGAINST TAIL DOCKING

The RSPCA is calling for a ban on the tail docking of dogs for cosmetic reasons.
Currently, it is legal for a veterinary surgeon to dock a dog's tail without
anaesthetic before the dog's eyes are open, but it is illegal for anyone else to
do it. This practise causes the dogs acute short-term pain and can cause chronic
long-term pain.

Don't deprive a dog of its best means of expression and balance - cosmetic tail
docking is brutal and unnecessary.

How you can help?
- Please support our campaign by signing our online petition at:
www.rspca.org.uk
- Write to your MP and ask him/her to support a tail docking ban.
- Send the petition link to your friends and families and ask them to 'take
action against tail docking'.
- Request a paper petition from: campaigns@rspca.org.uk

That seem to all intent and purposes to be genuine. Well either way I signed the petition and hoax or not it is a barbaric use of animals, both to the dogs and the sharks.
