Has anyone successfully managed to trace their dog through its ear tattoos.
I have traced my latest dog and have found out quite alot about him by doing this. It is very easy, just write down the tattoo marks from your dogs ears. One ear for English dogs both ears for Irish.
My dog is called Chad but his racing name was Dunmara Admiral. I now know that his parents were Chart King (who has fathered lots of other greyhounds) and Minnies Oxana. He had two other litter mates one girl and one boy. I now have his birthday 28-06-2000.
Who knows perhaps one of your dogs shares a relative with mine.
we just traced Sanna,s backround also, found out Chart King was her pops also n sierra was her Mother she also has 7 brothers n 3 sisters still racing i may add.......sighs,was very interesting to do my homework for once...grinz...so that makes us related Emma lol....

we knew about dave and daisy before we got them as the trainer had all the info. mind you, it was interesting to see their ancestors on the site - great isn't it !!
oh no, not the greyhound data website again...there's a topic somewhere Emma on the website and how obsessed some of the folks on here (erm, including me) tracing long lost cousins of our hounds, it's is SO interesting though to see your dogs lineage going back all those years...
dave very kindly traced taylor for me, she has a tattoo in both ears.her name was ballymarket gem and looking at some of the pics of the ansesters u can see were she has come from coat wise her marking to.shes only raced twice and as most of you know that came to an end because shes a big girl she ran awkward and wide she picked up an injury because when she ran her legs would bang together thats wot i was told anyways, and yes im totally 101% obsessed with her.
i know this is gonna sound really stupid but shes the daughter im never gonna have in a female kinda way.does that sound sad or wot.
