Hi - welcome to all the newbies on the forum - its great to see so many of you joining in the chat & hopefully coming to events!

I live in East Edinburgh, in my own flat. No hubbie or kids (phew!), just my little babies : Murphy is a sleek black boy who turned 2 in October 05. I adopted him as a 4mth olf pup. I had never ever had a dog before (not even as a kid - not for lack of trying!) so was a tad nervous to begin with. Dave offered me one of the xmas pups they had at the time. He was the last to find a home, but i went & picked him up without ever having met him & the rest is history...He is a true gentleman, very very loving. to the point of giving complete strangers out on walks big GH leans if they stand still for 2 seconds. He is absolutely wonderful with my little brother Michael (who just turned 18! yikes) - Michael is VERY special needs & has a mental age of about 2. Because Murf has grown up with him, he will let Michael make his ears & legs dance to the music, have all Michaels toys dancing on his back etc & doesnt grumble at all. They really do adore each other. I couldnt ask for more, as Mike was my main priority when chosing a dog - hense I went down the GH route after researching them extensively & realising how fab they were with kids...

Next addition was little Maisie. I adopted her in June 05. The vets reckon she was just under 2yrs of age then, so the wee scone celebrated her 2nd birthday on the same day as her new big brother Murf. She is primarily blonde, with the fainted pale brindle stripe along her spine & down her tail. She is part saluki, part GH & has the biggest feet ever! She has turned from being a nervie little thing (shes still quite shy with strangers but is improving all the time) to a right cheeky little monkey who loves nothing more than to throw all her toys about the lounge & pounce on them a speed. It can be a dangerous thing to sit on the sofa at times here! She also loves to curl up like a cat in the nook of my arm & fall asleep.

I truly am hooked....

Im currently training to be a Veterinary nurse - in my 2nd year of a 3.5yr course & loving the whole mature student thing again. Im 30, single & blonde so if anyone knows of any hunky single vets or farmers out there, do let me know !!
