Just to let you know that he's settled in very well here, and gets on great with my 2 grews, Cole & Wicket. He's come on leaps and bounds (literally!) from the shy little dog he was when he first arrived. I don't kno if he's seen snow before, but when i opened the back door this morning, he went banana's, doing several laps of the garden before stopping to see if the snow was edible lol
His favourite hobbies are; eating, sleeping, stealing my slippers, playing with toys (or anything that he can fit in his mouth) and rubbing his face on the furniture.
His nicknames are; Bilbo, Baggins, Billyum, Frillybum & Flump.
Things he dislikes; my singing (not suprising really lol) and being told "No".
I'll hopefully add a photo of him soon, once i figure out how to transfer files from my old pc onto this one.

Hi Johanne and Co, and my lovely wee pal Billy!!
Johanne if its any consolation he didnt like my singing either, infact I am probably to blame for him not liking yours, it probably reminds him too much of me!!! Billy must be one of the most charming GH's I have ever met, with his cheeky personality, you couldnt help but love him.
I do miss him and look forward to seeing him at the show.
Take care, give him a big hug from his 'other' foster mum x
And welcome to the forum! It's great to hear how Billy is getting on - and he sounds as if he's having a lot of fun. Isn't it great how greyhounds hate being cold, but love snow for dashing around and rolling about?
Hope to meet you and your lovely groos at one of the GAL events sooner or later.
Just to keep you all up to date with the latest on young Billyum. The xmas show was really great and he got quite a lot of interest.
He's going to what will hopefully be his new permenant home on saturday. Im going to miss him sooooo much, who's going to chew the telly remote and steal my slippers once he's gone?!
Great news that Billy has found a permanent home. What a great contribution you have made to what was a very nervous boy and because of all your efforts(and Dawns at the very start) he is now in a position to enjoy the comforts of his forever home.Well done...give yourself a big pat on the back.

I'm so happy for Billy, he deserves to find a forever home after all he has been through. Its not been an easy ride for him and its wonderful to hear that he has been chosen.
Well done Johanne, I know you will miss him and from what I saw at the show I know he will miss you too.
Thought I would update you on Billy. We went to pick him up from Johanne's yesterday. Brought him home to Livingston. Knew that our greyhoud Sophie would be okay, but were not too sure about our old mutt Benny. Billy wanted to play with Benny, but he was having none of it and told him so with a grumpy growl. Billy got the message and left him alone - that's been the sum total of Benny's disapproval - seems to have gone much easier than we thought.
Billy is looking a bit bewildered and sad - think he is really missing Johanne and her two doggies. Hopefully we can fill the void with lots of love and cuddles.
A huge big thank you to Johanne for helping along a dog that obviously has not had too much kindness shown to him in his short life. Time for him to enjoy the good life now.
Billy will settle down very quickly with you, I think! I'm sure Johanne is missing him too - she and Dawn have done a marvellous job of looking after Billy and getting him ready for his permanent home with you.
All the very best of luck to Billy - looking forward to hearing more about him.
I didnt realise it was yourself who was talking Billly, thats wonderful,........dont worry about him being a bit bewildered, he was always a bit dopey!! Every dog is a little unsettled for the first couple of days, but rest assured Billy will settle quicker than most, he is very adaptable and loves to play. Johanne did such a wonderful job with him, he was still in a poor state when she got him and now he looks terrific.
He has so much character which makes him so loveable He loved his cup of tea...so watch out if you leave yours within his reach!
Look forward to hearing all about his antics. Give him a big hug from me.
I'm sure Billy will settle down with you especially with all the love you will give him in his forever home. Looking forward to hearing all about what he gets up to.
Feeling really fed up and sad when writing this. Got off to a really good start with Billy and our dogs, but after about 48hrs Benny decided he no longer wanted Billy around. He started to bully him very aggressively, poor Billy could not come in to the same room but Benny was going for him full pelt. As the days went on Billy became more and more terrified of Benny. Don't think this was just an adjusting period. We really felt Billy was going to get hurt.
With a very sad heart we decided for both dogs it was best if Billy could go back. Dave acted really quickly on this, and we're very grateful for that, and Johanne said she could take him back.
So - we're just back from handing him over. Billy is a great big, gentle boy and he is going to make a fantastic friend for someone. Their gain is our loss.
Glad he was able to go back to Johanne, but still feeling really miserable about it. Will miss his big curious face so much. Journey home for husband and I very quiet.

Rhona,
I know how you feel I have been there with Billy and I know the pain your are feeling now, he is a fantastic dog, his only problem is that he loves life soooooooo much, thanks to GAL, saving his from his life of cruelty and abuse, and as a result sometimes he loves too much.......is that possible for a GH to love too much?
An Ad for Billy
Handsome 3yr old male GH, with beautiful tiger design coat and undershot jaw, desperatley seeking, sweet, gentle young female GH, to share good times with and poss more. Will have to have exceptionally GSOH. I like other dogs, drinking tea, eating and playing. I dont have my own home yet, and dont have a car, but I have lots of love to give. If you are looking for a good time and are free to spend some time walking with me, please contact me via GAL. No cats please. xx
Oh Rhona! Really sorry things didn't work out with Billy. But at least you know he's OK with Johanne. Sometimes things don't work out like we'd want them to. And giving Billy back to Johanne was the best thing to happen for Billy and your own dogs!
So sorry about Billy he sounds like a charming boy, but it was not meant to be. Your own dog must be a priority and Billy is back in a safe home. I am sure it won,t be long before he finds his forever home. We had a Border Collie with an undershot jaw and he was the greatest dog ever, the only problems he found with his jaw was that he took in a bit more water than the others when he was swimming in the river.

Thanks for all the kind words and support. Felt like we'd really mucked Billy about. Very strange house this morning without him plodding after me looking for food!!
I think it was the right decision, Benny actually looks as though he has a more relaxed expression on his face. Think we were really stressing him out too, and we do love him loads even though he's a grumpy old man.
Just a wee message to let everyone know that Billy's doin ok. He's running around with a squeaky toy as im typing this, and he's already tried to eat the xmas tree.
Rhona - I know how upset you and your family must be feeling at the moment, but i want you to know that if you ever want to come and visit Billy im sure he'd love to see you and you'd be more than welcome
Great to see you today and meet your family.......and of course it was wonderful to see Billy again. Despite the fact he took a min or two to decided if he should come and say hello to me, I still love him to bits. He looks so contented and relaxed with you, even when he tried to chew the xmas lights while he was still lying on the floor...typical Billy!
Billy will find his forever home and hopefully it will be soon.
First met Billy at Strathaven when he came to GAL as one o the 'Irish Five'. Ma heart went oot to him cos he was just sooooooooooo scared.
Didnae ken he was in ma neck o the woods aw this time tho! Met him again on Friday together with Cole, Wicket and of course Johanne. He's just a happy wee chappy these days..........well when he's no gettin dragged oot for a walk!
