Hi Everyone,

I had an incident with Snap this morning. We were out on our morning walk when the dogs spotted two Newfoundlands. Tink and Snap got a bit excited. As they jumped about Snap pulled hard on her lead. There was a 'twang' as the lead parted company with her collar. I'd attached the lead to her ID tag ring.

Any off she went at full speed to check out the Newfoundlands  and then on to sort out her lurcher enemies ( one went for her on first met so she remembers ) No harm done as she was wanting  a run about and she was muzzled.

But always remember what you clip lead onto. As the weakest link will break at the worst moment.

Oh dear Charles - easily done, specially when they have their coats on and you have to fumble around to find the ring.

Good thing she was muzzled - feisty girl that she is!!!!

What a shock to get Charles, but no damage done. It is so easy to do that.

Charles,

What a fright, luckily no harm done. i know how easy it is my other half did it a while ago and we lost the tag, a lovely lady actually posted it back to me, we were in the local church yard as it is a good cut through to a good walk.

Hi Charles

I did the same thing to Bud - Archie takes the dogs out as I go out to work.  I helped get them ready and put the lead onto the tag instead of the thick bit.

I leave for work at 8am.  I got a text at 9.30am - Bud had slipped the lead, ran all around Stepps and Archie didn't get him back for an hour and a half.  Every time Archie got near Bud he'd bound off like it was a game.  The only people he ran up to were strangers, he'd have a sniff a wag of the tail and off he went - Archie kept shouting "can you keep him there???" but Bud's too big a boy for anyone who doesn't know greyhounds to try.

All they would have had to do is scratch is head and he'd be there all day.

Archie had poor Keera who was totally stressed having to chase Bud who was running around fields like a mad greyhound possessed.

My name was mud .... although he was muzzled ... and they slept all day after that ... and it is a lesson learned ... happens to the best of us ...
