Most of you will know that GAL has a volunteer at Bothwell Scottish SPCA Centre every Saturday. The work goes on constantly as there is a steady stream of greyhounds and lurchers who have taken into the SSPCA's care for a variety of reasons. Most weeks we see the arrival of a a greyhound or lurcher.
This past week saw the arrival of Lenny -a white and black greyhound dog, a small tan lurcher girl and a grey/black/ white lurcher dog.
Due to the efforts of GAL we saw the departure yesterday of 1. Sawyer - a big white and fawn/red collie / hound cross to his new home on Skye. 2. A light brindle greyhound puppy dog
But it's difficult to keep finding homes for the new arrivals.
There is a constant need for good homes for the unfortunate SSPCA greyhounds and lurchers. They have ended up in care through no fault of their own - many have been through terrible experiences.
They really tug at my heartstrings, especially when I see the last one looking so afraid and I sincerely wish I could help. In fact I feel sad that I am unable to help.
ANYONE WHO HAS GOT A BIT OF SPACE PLEASE HELP THESE POOR WEE MITES THIS CHRISTMAS!
