Hi Anna

My sister tells me about Paul O'Grady's show and that there are nearly always greyhounds or lurchers featured on it and looking for a home. I've never seen it before as I must be out when it's on. I'm sure all the dogs get homes after being on the show and hopefully all the homes are checked first! It's a great idea and must work, otherwise the dogs wouldn't have such a regular spot on his show.

I used to think Paul O'Grady was good but a while back i heard that the first dog he rescued, a mongrel pup had become pregnant to the other dog in the house. I know not everyone agrees with spaying/neutering but for someone who actively tries to rehome homeless dogs, you'd think he'd be a bit more responsible. I mean there are millions of homeless mungrels already sitting in rescue centres, desperate for homes and he is just adding to the problem.

Obviously as pups they will find good homes but dont they all? eventually someone, somewhere is gonna get fed up with it and get rid of it. Plus his dog was really young to be having pups, i heard it was his dogs first season, it was under a year.

hi jennifer

if ur refering to olga it was her first season and paul sent her away incase of accidental pregnancies.when she was brought back they thought she was pregnant by buster but needless to say it was a phantom pregnancy which most females do get, my mum in laws dogs had then but he said that she was going in to get fixed as he doesnt want any dogs they keep shouting to take one of the homeless ones but he says on many an occasion he doesnt want anymore.ive heard most bitches go into season when they r 6 months old onwards some vets wont do it till they have had a season.

That's a relief - I also saw the show in which he said that he thought Olga was pregnant.  I also thought - how disappointing and irresponsible.  So - since I like him and his show - it is a relief that Olga is not preg.

Hurrah!
