First I locked myself out with Oscar (Petra was still in her bed, so thought I'd walk him separately first). Had no phone or money on me, so had to walk 40 mins to OH's office to get a key. Taking a different route than usual, me & Oscar walked up this small lane, which happened to be in front of (rather than behind, as is usual where I live) a couple of houses.
Well, Osc was just sniffing a bush when this woman opens her window and tells me to 'get that dog out of there please, as I clean that area'. I could have understood this slightly more if he was in the middle of a big dump, but he had already done that elsewhere (I was still carrying the bag) and was just sniffing a bush! Fraid I was not having a v. good day, having not even had time to put my nicotine patch on and gave her a mouthful! I shook my poop bag at her and told her where to go! What does she do anyway, polish the leaves on the bushes . This was not anywhere near her private garden, but a public lane. Doesn't it make you mad someone telling you that your dog is not allowed to walk down a public street/lane?!
Then on eventually getting home, took Petra out and a stray/lost westie appeared and followed us all the way home! Petra is usually sociable, but got really quite annoyed as this dog kept sniffing her bum for the whole block it took us to get home. It had a collar but no tag on.
It followed me right to my front door at which point I bundled it into my car (unlocked luckily) as I didn't want it meeting Oscar!! Called dog warden and she came and collected, saying someone local had reported him missing, but why no ID tag for goodness sake?
Anyway, these things always happen in 3s, so I guess that was my round of bad luck over with for a while (I hope!)
Some folk are so nasty when it comes to dogs doing the loo. They think everyone is the same and wont pick up after their dogs. I mind once my dog was doing a pee and someone shouted "hope your gonna pick that up!"
Me being the mouthy bitch that i am said back, "if you wanna show me how to pick up piss, i'll definatly try" LOL
That shut them up.! I just wish folk would mind there own business!! You always get busy bodies thinking they know best! oh you can just tell i'm on my high horse about this topic eh ha ha

I heard someone at work the other day say that they thought it was disgusting when people pick up poo and carry it about with them. Er, and if we don't pick it up we get called all manner of names! What are we supposed to do?!!!!

just goes to prove that "dog people" are much more tolerant that others. i always think there has to be something wrong with people who don't like dogs. i know that not everyone can own one but how can you not like them???
I get bad looks if my dog is peeing on the street, but if my 2 year old son is desperate for the toilet and there is no where to go, no one looks twice if he has to pee!!

now that could be a fun game to do in return - start shouting at all the parents who hold their kids butts out the car door at the side of the roads so they can pee......
(only kidding Jane!! )
- dont they know they could cause a pile up with everyone looking & saying "wonder what they are doing - aaawww gawd man - thats grosse!" .....
or how about picking on folk that spit up big greeners on the pavement....or gob out chewing gum so it sticks to your shoes.....
these people have a choice ....a dog cant understand that squating in the middle of a golfing green for a number 2 causes upset.....I dont get people sometimes....

It's only happened a couple of times - honest! When Aedan has to go.. he HAS to go!!
I try and get Casper and Aedan to 'go' before we leave on a walk, but Casper saves some for later so he can mark everything and Aedan, well he just pees all day! I can't win
(I never thought when I signed up to this forum that I would be telling people I have never met about the toilet habits of my dog and son!!)

I think what astounded me in this particular instance was that Oscar was neither pooing, nor peeing - all he was doing was sniffing a leaf! Also this woman's proprietorial attitude to an area that was clearly a public walkway. Also the fact that she shouted down at me from a window - think there is something about that that makes one lose one's inhibitions and behave more aggressively - I prob wouldn't have sworn at her if she had been standing right in front of me
