Hi Folks and welcome to The Greyhound Awareness League's ONLINE DOG SHOW the perfect way to show off your hounds in Cyberspace!! Our Online dogs show will be running for the full month of March so you've plenty of time to get your entries in! All funds raised will go directly to the Greyhound Awareness League Kennel Fund!


 


HOW IT WORKS


Our dog show has 6 classes (listed below). Simply take some pictures of your hounds and send them to GAL for entry into the classes. Our show is open to Greyhounds and Lurchers only! We'll be accepting entries for the next 3 weeks. As and when we receive entries they will be posted on the Online Dog show section of our kennel fund website, visit www.kennelfund.gal.org.uk and click 'current campaigns'.


 


When the closing date has been reached you'll then get a chance to vote via the website for the winners of each class! The 6 class winners will then go through to the Best in Show final which will be judged on the 31st of March by ANNETTE CROSBIE!!!! 


 


RULES FOR ENTRY


 


1. Only 1 picture per dog per class!


 


2. Pictures to be emailed in .jpg or .gif format only to onlinedogshow@gal.org.uk


Your entry MUST include the following information -


 



  • Your Name
  • Your Dogs Name
  • How old is your dog?
  • Where did you get your dog?
  • What is your dogs favourite hobby?
  • What is your dogs favourite snack?
  • If your dog could have one wish, what would it be?

 


3. Entry fee is £1 per dog per class! - Payment MUST be received by 19th March by Paypal, Nochex, Cheque or Postal Order


 


To pay by PAYPAL simply visit www.paypal.com and pay your entry fee to kennelfund@gal.org.uk


 


To pay by NOCHEX simply visit www.nochex.com and pay your entry fee to kennelfund@gal.org.uk

ONLINE DOG SHOW CLASSES


 


CLASS 1. BEST ROACH


We all know how our hounds like to snuggle down in bed, turn over and stick their legs in the air, thats a roach! Lets see who's hound best assumes the position!


 


CLASS 2. FACE IN FOCUS


Greyhounds and Lurchers DO have the nicest faces, lets show them off in this category.


 


CLASS 3. OUTWARD HOUNDS


When not sleeping the hounds like nothing more that an amble out of doors, capture your hound outside (in any pose!)


 


CLASS 4. BEST GROUP


How many hounds have you got? Get all your hounds (and your friends and neighbours hounds!) in a group pose!


 


CLASS 5. BEST DRESSED


No fancy dress, we want to see your hound spruced up in their best Coat, Collar and Lead combo's 


 


CLASS 6. FORUM FAVOURITE


Any dog, any pose, anywhere. This special category will be judged by members of the GAL Online forum.


 


COMPETITION DATES


1. Entries to be accepted from 1st to 19th March.


2. Judging will then commence from 20th - 26th March, simply log onto the kennel fund website during those dates and vote for your winners visit www.kennelfund.gal.org.uk and click 'current campaigns'!


3. Class 6 'Forum Favourite' will be judged on GAL's online forum by it's members, if you'd like to join our forum to vote please visit www.forum.gal.org.uk


4. Class Winners will be announced on 27th March.


5. The 6 class winners will then go into the 'Best in Show' Class which will be judged by ANNETTE CROSBIE, winner to be announced on the 31st of March


 


PRIZES


Each class winner will receive a medal and there's a trophy up for grabs for the best in show!!

YIP, LIKE IT. IT IS CERTAINLY DIFFERENT, WILL HAVE TO GET BUSY SNAPPING AWAY AT CAS( WHO FORTUNATLY LOVES THE CAMERA), SHAME ABOUT SASHA THOUGH BEING A WHIPPET. But you lost me when you said all entries must be sent in .jpg or.gif format For the totally computer stupid ie. me How the heck do I do that? Or can i just send it to you Dave and you will sort it out.

If you right click on file/photo and select properties it should say "File Type: JPEG" or whatever your files are.

To be honest, I think we can easily cope with any image format. If you have a photo of your dogs on your computer, the chances are it'll be OK to use.

suzanne, i too have next week off.  had planned loads of housewifely stuff, like cleaning the cooker but, hell, this has gotta be more fun than spraying Mr Muscle around !!!!

Well folks, remember to keep checking the dog show website, few more entries in today. A few of our forum 'big guns' have shown their hands early, Millie, Blue, Vernon and Ziggy all look stunning!! There's going to be some stiff competition in the face in focus class, Veron's picture looks totally amazing!


We've even had a few entries from 'accross the pond', I love little Luca sitting on top of the Rhino, my question is how she got there in the first place!!


Remember folks, plenty of time yet for entries so get snapping!


Final note to the folks that have sumitted entries but elected to pay by cheque, the pictures will only go into the show once we receive your cheques!!....

I seem to remember that Mr. Spoons had a tongue which needed to be rolled up in order to fit back within his mouth. Millie would have some competiton.

our crack technical team (yeah that means you Phil) have just added a lovely picture of the TROPHY up for grabs for best in show, it's on the dog show site...it's being closely guarded by my Ruby in the picture who's trying her best to look cool about the whole thing!....
