Hi
Zak is moulting right now and has a rather bare butt !

He's also getting a bit of dandruff..... any suggestions on anything that will help with the dandruff and the bare bottom?

I've bought some Aloevera Shampoo to help butt any further suggestions would be appreciated.

Katrina

katrina, i gave up worrying about bald butts ages ago, it seems a very hit & miss type of thing!!  as for the flaky skin, keep on with the aloe vera

I used a bit oil in their food and this helped. Or sardines of course are good coat conditioners

All the dogs get tuna or sardines quite regularly. I'm still puting it down to moulting as Missy is a little tufty at the rear end but obviously this is the first spring moult I've had with Zak.

Might get some omega oils as a supplement if the aloe vera doesn't work.

Thanks for your help.

Harry gets quite dandruffy as he moults. Course, it doesn't help that we rub him vigorously all the time on his rump cos he loves it and it's fun to watch his back leg twitch!! But that's by the by....

Anyhoo, we've got some pre-moistened bathing cloths that we wipe him with when he's flaky. They're perfectly safe and gentle and okay for daily use. They just take off the worst of any surface grease and flake.

ps: sorry, forgot to say that we got them from Pets at Home. 80 cloths for about £6 or so.

We use a teatree oil grooming spray after she's been groomed which seems to have helped loads as she was very dandruffy when we first got her.
