Zak had his first bath

Wasn't sure how he would cope with a bath until now.
Zak had his first bath with us today and stood very still and loved every min of it. Until the warm water cooled.

We've not been able to bath him as you know he was in bandages for a long time when we first fostered him.

Its amazing how fluffy a greyhound can be once dried with a towel !

they are a joy to bath, aren't they?  i think it's because they are so compliant and stand quite still, whatever you do to them.  i know dave and daisy enjoyed their bath last year.  greyhounds smell so sweet but after a bath, they smell even better.

ps. i love the smell of dogs' feet and my hubby likes the smell of their ears.  yep, we're odd !

I gave George and Maia their first bath the other night (well perhaps not a first for them, but a first for me!) We have been taking them to an enclosed field and getting them used to being off their lead and then recalling them. The field has been used for horses recently and they decided to bananas and rub their shoulders in horse poo!

I couldn't do anything to stop them and George was absolutely caked in it! They both stank. I got them home and got them in the bath (front legs first and then a sort of wheelbarrow method to get the back legs in) They were looking at me as if I had gone absolutely mental, but were very well behaved and seemed to enjoy the warm water. Afterwards and after a LOT of persuasion I even managed to get the hairdryer on them!

They were all beautiful and fluffy afterwards.
