As I was returning from the early morning walk with Lulu and Douglas, as usual, I let them off the lead just inside my gate. Douglas spotted a squirrel and went after it like a flash. Lulu decided to join in and by the time she reacted, Douglas was away accross the front garden and up into the higher level. Lulu decided to take the direct route and jump over a small stone wall. Unfortunately as she was wearing a harness and her outdoor coat, she misjudged the jump and clattered off the top of the wall. She then went head over heels squealing like a stuck pig. I thought she had broken her leg(s).
She is OK but was limping for a wee while. She has also skinned her front elbow.
Greyhounds dont half squeal when the hurt themselves.
My Brother and his wife live next door and the both came out when they heard the noise. They thought she was dying!!!!!!
What a start to the day!!!!!

Alan, Lulu and Douglas's Dad or am I Lulu's dad and Douglas's grandad?
Poor Lulu! Glad she's ok though. I think greyhounds and lurchers do tend to have a fairly low pain threshold - I know when our last lurcher had an antibiotic injection at the vets you could hear him squeal (is that spelt right?) from the car park! Guess they haven't got much padding.....
Glad Lulu didn't hurt herself more than she did. Must have been frightening to hear her and wondering what damage she had done to herself. Hope you have a better day tomorrow : - )
Poor Lulu and poor you, hope she learned something from this(doubt it) , greys are such wimps when it comes to pain. Cas goes to the vets to get her toenails clipped and sadly she has to be sedated to do this, but the last time we took her she practicaly fainted when she saw the needle and then the squeling began. The vets love her and she always so happy to see them until the serious stuff starts. Nora Give Lulu big hugs
