Just thought I'd post this here, not often GAL get a pure Whippet to rehome and figured you guys would want to 'ooh and 'aah', this is Sherry, one of 8 new arrivals to GAL this week, she's 2 years old, loves dogs, might be catsafe, suitable only for older kids and is a cheeky enthusiastic wee minx (oh and she's really quite fat)...
She is lovely, really nice colour and markings. She's just a young wee thing, a bit of exercise and that waist will be back in no time! Hope she finds a forever home soon. Jane

At the risk of sounding highly unpolitically correct, and being whacked over the head with something blunt and heavy, if Sherry is very popular, maybe she could be part of the AOP...?
Start the bidding at the standard fee for a GAL dog, and see where it goes...?

probably a bit non PC!! I do dream of the day when GAL will not have enough dogs to satisfy demand and lucky owners would need to draw lots for a suitable dog..
Any luck with Sherry, a member of staff from Tesco, Haddington was looking for whippet and I gave her a card to check out the web site thought she would have got in touch. Nora

Hi Fiona, had a few folks interested in her but no one biting just yet...
Karen, aka Isla, told me about this thread. Are you telling us that some people met her & said "No thanks"?????????? Although I'm glad they did
And she's not fat, just well-covered. I thought she had lost weight since I got her, but according to the vet's scales she still weighs exactly the same
Sandy, however, has lost 1 kg. These two facts may possibly be related to the fact that Sherry will barge Sandy out of the way & stick her face in his dish while he stands there looking as if he is going to cry. He, naturally, is not allowed to steal her food, or else he gets a severe telling off from Her Majesty. I seem to spend half my life rescuing his dinner on his behalf!
