Sally was pts on Sunday early morning. She took an infection and her immune system couldnt cope with it. You might remember her as the dog whos nails fell out. Glenda and Dave brought Sally over to me to foster. She was known in her old household as a devil dog that would not get on with other dogs.If Glenda hadnt went to Aberdeen to get her I wouldnt have had the privilege of living with Sally. How misunderstood she was. Fear aggression was all that was wrong and it took a matter of 3 days with my lot to cure it. They are all special but to me Sally was really special. She was what I would call the perfect Greyhound. Ill never forget her and will always carry her in my heart.
I feel priveleged to be able to foster /adopt all these greyhounds/lurchers and will always have something worthwhile in my life to look back on.
We never knew or met Sally but she sounds like she was a lovely dog. We lost our lurcher, Eeyore, coming up for year ago and we still think about him most days. It's easier now but you never forget a dog - they're just so special. You've got a special lot of dogs who am sure will help you though this.
Esther Paul and Connor I'm so sorry for your loss. Sally sounded like a wounderful dog/friend. It must be hard for the rest of the pack as well.
Sally had a wonderful life with you. Thank goodness there are people like you who are willing to give a "devil dog" a chance and help them over come there fears and past traumas
Really sorry to hear about Sally. I can only repeat what other folk have said, and what wonderful people you are to take on these special dogs and devote your life to them. I know its awful what your going through right now, as i lost my last greyhound "Stella" last year at the age of 13 and i still think about her everyday.
