Hi Folks, just thought I'd let you all know that I've resigned from my position as GAL Convenor with immediate effect. Fraid the pressures of the convenors job along with doing the Homing and the Treasurer's job have just become too much. On top of that I recently started in a new role in my 'normal paying job' which means I'm having to spend more hours chained to an office desk than I previously had too. Oh, and not to forget the 6 hounds to look after.


The rest of the GAL committee are busy working away to find a suitable replacement and I'll work with them during this process and during the handover period.


It's been a bit of a rollercoaster doing this role for the last few years, happy to report more ups than downs. I'll still be involved of course in GAL and will happily be continuing in both the Homing and Treasurers role. Stepping down just means I'll have more time to home more dogs.


Thanks to everyone thats helped me during this time!

Dave the amount you do/have done for Gal has always astonished me and frequently wonder when you get time to sleep since a lot of your posts are in the wee hours Thanks for all you and the other big cheeses at Gal do. Is any one lined up to take your place?

Dave, flippin well done so far - i'm constantly amazed at how much you cram into your life !! Glad to see you're still going to be involved in GAL.

Dave - Thanks for all you've done as Convenor. Like Amanda and Tree, I've always been amazed at the amount of work you do for GAL and wonder when you get time to yourself to relax. But it's great you'll still be involved in homing the dogs - you've got a real talent for that!! And I'm sure we'll still see you at some of the events.

enjoy your semi-retirement Dave!! You certainly deserve it with all the blood, sweat & tears you have put into the job of convenor over the years!

Its certainly a big pair of boots to fill....hope you find the right person to do so...

Dave thank you for being you, what a fantastic job you have done and it will have to be someone very special to fill the void you leave behind. Dave - don't know how on earth you do all you do - must split yourself in two (would be handy sometimes wouldn't it?!) - you def deserve a break and some time to yourself. Good luck to whoever takes over from you - it'll be hard to fill your shoes!
