Sadly Dan didn't manage to keep clean, although through no fault of his own. He went to the vet yesterday to get his teeth done and had to have five taken out !!! He also had a couple of wee fatty lumps removed and got his vaccination while he was there. He was a poor wee soul when we got him home yesterday and his mouth was still bleeding for a while. Because he's mostly white it looked awful, blood stains all over his cheeks and down his front legs . Anyway I'm pleased to say that he has been great today, no need for any further pain relief and he ate scrambled eggs for breakfast and pasta with sardines for lunch. His tail has been wagging and he's even smiled a couple of times. But, alas, the blood stains are likey to be with us for a while. So we've decided to give him a quiet weekend at home. Sally's still in heat so we wouldn't want to take her to the hot dog show or edinburgh walk anyway.
While I'm on here, Dan's weight has dropped a bit, he was thin anyway but with his experiences this week he's got even thinner and I'm a wee bit concerned. Any ideas on how to fatten him up, bearing in mind he can't chew much just now?

You could try soaking his usual food in some warm water to soften it. Or you could keep on feeding him what you're feeding him at the moment, which sounds all good stuff. You could add in some mashed potato, chicken, steamed veg as well for extra protein and good quality calories. He'll perk up and put weight on gradually over the next couple of weeks. Mind you, he might not want to eat his usual food ever again!
Hope his mouth feels right as rain very soon, and hope to meet Dan and the gang at one of the walks one day.
Sorry you won't manage the Hot Dog Show or the walk. I'm sure many people are looking forward to meeting you all! The main thing is that Dan recovers from his dental & Sally stays out of bother! Hope to see you at some events later
