Is the weather as bad everywhere today? It has rained non stop in Dundee since i got up this morning (and with an 8 month old baby, believe me that was early!!).
At least Neo has had plenty of use out of his coat and very handsome he looks in it too! Tried to take him out without it this morning and he stopped dead at the door and refused to budge another inch until i put it on.
I think ive now ran out of dry shoes and will be walking him in my slippers later. Do all greys hate the rain or is it just my big wuss.
well down here in the south (hastings, east sussex) it has been a scorcher of a day with more of the same forecast for the weekend and into the early part of next week.
sorry
anyway, it's too hot for the babies to go walkies - they only end up huffing & puffing when they get home and it takes them ages to cool down enough for their dinner.
Okay, it's obviously just me that needs to look out waterproofs and waders to drag a very reluctant Neo out for a walk. In saying that it is brightening up now but i can guarantee there will be another downpour at 10pm when we go out again. Sod's law
Glad you are all enjoying the sunshine though but try sending some of it our way.
We've had nothing but rain until now aswell! Linlithgow is so much nicer when it sunny! Rosie would agree, she refuses to go out in the rain unless she has her jacket on and snood pulled right over her ears!

Sandy isn't keen on rain or hail but without fail, as soon as I pull the darn snood over his ears he shakes his head until it falls down. Then his little ears get pinged with hailstones or Argyll-style rain and he looks as if he is going to cry.
Not that I'm being sexist or anything, but I'm convinced it's macho pride, you know, like when the two-legged variety of male goes out in a blizzard wearing only a t-shirt because it would be girly to put on a jacket............
Down here in Peterborough it is scorching. Far too hot for the dogs (or me!). We have all the fans on and I have left one on for Tiger and Chad tonight (poor things are puffing away, I even wet them both around the face and neck to try to cool them down) It is set to get hotter still next week - I think I'll move to Scotland (whichever bit is rainiest) I really hate the heat.
We have had down pours here in East Lothian today and Sasha will not go out unless she has her waterproof on, what are they like? She is also sporting a stocking over her head as she has a cut in her ear , right at the tip and every time she shakes her head( which is often) it bleeds. So with gel from the vets and lots of microtape she is driving us nuts pulling it off all the time. Whats a girl to do ? Nora
Know what you mean about the pathetic whippet face, it is like Bambi on a bad day they are so good at feeling sorry for themselves.

Wee tip for hot hounds wherever the sun may be shining.
Dampen a towel (make sure it's TEPID water and not freezing cold) and lay it along the length of your dog, this gently brings down their temperature and lets the body cool down slowly.
This is often used for reducing the temperature in those poor dogs left in cars in hot weather
My black hounds really suffer in the heat and they love it when the damp towels appear.
Thankfully my gang don't do wet weather, how lucky am I?
If the sun ever comes out again up my way i will certainly try the damp towel.
We had one really warm day last week and Neo really suffered with the heat (maybe because he is black too!). I tried everything i could think of but was sponging down his face and neck which only helped a bit, the towel idea sounds so much better.
